PROJECT MANAGER: KNP TURNAROUND PLAN
Park: Kruger National Park


​Description:
A position exists for a one-year fixed-term contract working within the office of the Managing Executive of the KNP to assist with implementing initiatives related to the KNP Turnaround Strategy.
Terms:
  • One year fixed term contract.
  • The incumbent need not be based within the KNP but will be required to spend time within the KNP. Accommodation only will be provided whilst in the Park.
  • All other associated costs, aside from travel within the Park, or travel to meetings outside the Park from the Park to be covered by the incumbent.
 
Requirements:
  • An MBA or equivalent.
  • Member of professional financial, accounting or supply chain body.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in leading a Project Management Unit (PMU) and/or providing technical assistance to the public sector.
  • Supply chain management in the public sector.
  • Understanding of, and experience with operating within the PFMA.
  • Experience in working across economic and infrastructural sectors.
  • Financial and financial project management experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Project manager and lead of the KNP Turnaround Plan and the fixed terms employees in the office of the KNP ME.
  • Assist with the financial scoping of business opportunities.
  • Identify the relevant procurement modalities for the implementation of opportunities.
  • Work with the KNP Management team, and relevant SANParks divisions to project manage all Outcomes of the KNP Turnaround Strategy.
  • Prepare monthly reports which track progress in the implementation of the Outcomes.
  • Hold regular meetings with the Project Champions and other employees for each of the Outcomes.
  • Advise the Economic and Engineering Project Leads and KNP Management team on procurement modalities.
  • Oversee the preparation of procurement documentation for various procurements in the Turnaround Plan.
  • Assist the KNP SCM to implement improvements to the management of the Warehouse.
