Description:
A challenging vacancy currently exists for a dynamic, team-oriented and highly motivated Manager: Planning, Performance & Reporting. The successful candidate will coordinate sound strategic planning, annual performance management and reporting within the Conservation Services Division. They will also develop and facilitate the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures and maintenance of sound administration and corporate governance systems within the division.
Patterson Grade: D4
The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Patterson D4 band job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the HR Tariff Document and Conditions of Service of SANParks.

Requirements:
  • BSc Honours in Conservation Biology or Natural Science Any postgraduate degree in related discipline or MBA will be an advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge in planning, policy development and corporate governance
  • Sound knowledge of legislation relevant to the governance of National Parks
  • Sound organisational, administrative and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, project management, conflict resolution and community liaison skills
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours
  • Willingness to travel extensively to national parks and other geographically dispersed sections
  • A valid driver’s license
 
Responsibilities:
  • To coordinate annual planning (contribution of the division to Strategic Planning and annual performance planning).
  • To coordinate divisional quarterly reporting to the executive, the Board and to parliament.
  • To provide strategic guidance and support for the implementation of organizational obligations in line with applicable legislative requirements.
  • To coordinate and implement the strategic planning functions of the division efficiently and timeously.
  • To provide effective strategic management and leadership within the division and liaise with other divisions and support functions.
  • To coordinate with all shared services and support functions to the division including human capital, finance and others.
  • To implement sound governance and financial management.



Salary: R 646 649 - R 1 081 677
