FIELD ASSISTANT (BIODIVERSITY SOCIAL PROJECTS)
Park: Garden Route National Park
Description:
The position is on a fixed-term contract position up to 31 March 2024; renewable on mutual agreement. The salary is on a Paterson B4 band, at R 9 727.90 Park accommodation is available.
Preference will be local candidates.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or NQF level 4
- Code 08 driver's license
- Computer Literacy in MS Office
- 2 Year experience with contracting teams/management of personnel
- Experience in health and safety management and compliance
- Experience in rehabilitation techniques and/or invasive alien plant clearing.
- Experience in Chainsaw operations (certificate to be attached)
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project-related planning
- Assist with the management and mentoring of EPWP contractors
- Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task based operations linked to the project
- Ensure compliance to program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements
- Assist with mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Report on project progress
- Communicate and liaise with relevant stakeholders
