ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER (TSITSIKAMMA SECTION)
Park: Garden Route National Park
 
 
Description:
This position is a fixed-term contract up to 31 March 2024. Remuneration on C2 Paterson salary scale R 14 342.93, staying inside the Park plus Tool of Trade allowance of R 3,913.25 (suitable vehicle) per month pending approval as per SANParks Delegation Framework. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting in managing the Working for Water Project in the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park.
 
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Nature Conservation or Environmental Management.
  • A minimum of one year of Project Management experience.
  • Computer literacy in MS office packages.
  • Code 08 driver's license.
  • Experience in rehabilitation techniques and/or invasive alien plant clearing is essential for this position.
  • Experience in health and safety management and compliance.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with strategic and operational planning of the project.
  • Coordination and mentoring of EPWP contractors.
  • Ensure the management of quality, production and monitoring of task-based operations linked to the project.
  • Ensure compliance to program standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Assist with the financial management of the project.
  • Ensure database information for the project is maintained and updated.
  • Assist with administrative management.
  • Asset, stock and stores management.
  • Assist and coordinate training and social interventions.
  • Assist with mapping and data recording for the project linked to activities.
  • Report on project progress.
