SANBI offers basic annual salary of R255 450.00

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a highly motivated, efficient, and enthusiastic person to administer, coordinate, and manage the site security and provision of information to the garden visitors. 


This position requires a Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 4 years of work experience in the relevant field, OR a National Diploma in Security Management or Advanced Certificate, or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 3 years of work experience in the relevant field. Higher Education Qualification/Advanced Diploma at NQF 7 will be an added advantage.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: must have a valid Grade PSIRA grade B certificate, ability to work under pressure; extensive experience in the implementation of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, processes, and regulatory framework relevant to Safety & Security Management; Safety & Service focus are essential; advance knowledge for planning and organising, and statistical reports writing skills; in-depth organisational, analytical, and problem solving skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.


Key Performance Responsibilities include: 
  • Provide effective security and risk management;
  • Ensure effective visitor services and public relations;
  • Coordinate health and safety management services;
  • Support garden related information services; and
  • Support management of human resources.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, professional, and responsible person to contribute to departmental strategic objectives through promoting sustainability, effective revenue collection, reporting, and good governance.
This position requires a degree in Financial Management, Accounting Science, Retail Management, Commercial/Advanced Diploma, or an equivalent Degree in revenue management, hospitality management and business development or an equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate degree or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires a minimum of 6 years of work experience in the relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s). 
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: a sound knowledge and understanding of financial management principles and the instruments used to manage the profitability and sustainability of the business. Knowledge and understanding of change management. A comprehensive knowledge of engaging and collaborating with stakeholders. Displays sound knowledge of legislative requirements in a financial and retailing environment. A knowledge and understanding of records management, human resources management, ethical corporate governance, retail management, developing partnerships, policy development, and team management. Proven ability to work with a diverse team and independently; be able to operate within the framework of the approved standard operating procedures; good planning, organizing, interpersonal, time management, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools, including MS Word, Excel, the Internet, and Outlook, will be advantageous. Applicants must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence.


Key Performance Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with management and reporting of revenue;
  • Assist with invoicing, debt management, and reporting;
  • Responsible for the management of daily and weekly reconciliations;
  • Assist with the management of risks associated with revenue collection and reporting;
  • Responsible for compiling accurate management reports; and
  • Assist with the facilitation of human capital development and transformation.
