ADMINISTRATION OFFICER: SCM

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to manage compliance within the quotation threshold.
This position requires a national diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 4 years of work experience in the relevant field or a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent qualification at NQF 7 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field.  A postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent qualification with NQF 8 will be an added advantage.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: extensive knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems, and frameworks related to supply chain management is essential; in-depth knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice is essential; advanced planning, organizing, and problem solving skills; excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; report writing skills, people management skills, excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook) will be advantageous. The possession of a valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.
 
Key Performance Responsibilities include:
  • Attend to matters related to procurement processes in line with supply chain management policies;
  • Attend to end to end administration matters related to bids processing, specification, evaluation, and adjudication processes;
  • Provide professional service to suppliers and other related stakeholders; and
  • Provide professional advice and required expertise to governance, risk, and compliance matters.

PROJECT KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING OFFICER

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to provide support on SANBI’s implementation and management of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Reflection and Learning (MERL) plan of the GEF funded, Biodiversity Economy project. The support will entail the development of the MERL framework, generating, monitoring, collecting, and documenting learning within the biodiversity economy and biodiversity stewardship workstream, drawing from the three project nodes.
A national diploma in Natural Sciences, Ecology, or equivalent qualification at NQF 6 with 4 years of work experience in the relevant field or an advanced diploma or a degree in Natural Sciences, Ecology, or equivalent qualification at NQF 7 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field. A postgraduate degree in Natural Sciences, Ecology, or equivalent qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage.

  • Provide project management support to the Assistant Director: Biodiversity Stewardship
  • Provide support with coordination of communities of practice.

DEPUTY DIRECTOR: RISK MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to prevent and /or mitigate business risks for SANBI by ensuring compliance with various legislation inter alia the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations as well as the King IV report (recommendations) and ensuring sound corporate governance through the implementation of best practice interventions.
This position requires a degree in Commerce / Risk Management or Internal Audit or equivalent qualification at NQF 7. A postgraduate degree in Commerce / Risk Management or Internal Audit or equivalent qualification at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires a minimum of 8 years of work experience in enterprise wide risk management, 4 years of which should be in first line management position(s).
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: in-depth understanding and experience in working with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, protocols, systems and frameworks related to risk management and compliance; advanced knowledge, understanding and experience of administration and management of risk management, compliance and reporting systems; extensive knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, and Treasury Regulations; high level of attention to detail in dealing with planning, coordination, and management of risk and compliance throughout the organization; advanced ability to work with diverse team and under pressure while being quality, cost, and safety conscious; advanced knowledge for planning, organising, and reports writing skills; excellent organisational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook). Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Champion Compliance Management;
  • Implement Business Continuity Management;
  • Implement Ethics Management programmes within SANBI;
  • Assist with maintaining Risk Management (and related) systems and processes viz. fraud prevention, hotline process management, maintain alleged fraud register, perform administrative functions regarding RMFPC, etc; and
  • Discharge duties of the designated Loss Control Officer.

BIODIVERSITY STEWARDSHIP OFFICER
