The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a highly motivated individual to provide coordination, reporting, project, and logistical support to the Office of the Head of Branch: BS&PA on the work being undertaken at Branch level.
The position requires a national diploma or degree in project management, public administration, or equivalent qualification with NQF 7 or Honours or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. Six (6) years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years should be in project management, management and coordination of finances, budgets, procurements, logistics, meetings (local and international), and secretarial services will be an added advantage. Knowledge of the biodiversity sector will also be an added advantage.
The successful candidate must have:
- Project management training and comprehensive experience in formal project management implementation methodologies will be an added advantage.
- Professional project management certification (Prince2/Project Management Professional (PMP)/Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent) would be an added advantage.
- Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act requirements and National Treasury Regulations is essential.
- Ability to maintain sound interpersonal relations and to work in a methodical manner is essential.
- Excellent business management skills, planning and organising, problem-solving skills; and communication skills (both written and verbal at all levels) is essential.
- Must have excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet and Outlook).
- Be in possession of a valid Code B (unendorsed) driver’s license with one-year practical driving experience.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage financial, budget, procurement and compliance related matters to support the Office of the Head of Branch: BS&PA;
- Coordinate and report on office related projects and programs for the Office of the Head of Branch: BSPA;
- Provide logistical, travel support, and secretarial services to the Office of the Head of Branch: BS&PA.
