The South African National Aids Council (SANAC) leads South Africa’s response to the national HIV and AIDS, TB & STIs epidemics. SANAC is building a dynamic team that can facilitate its effective leadership of the national response.

Grade: B3
Duration: Temporary (6 months)
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Location: SANAC Head Office, Pretoria

JOB SUMMARY: SANAC is looking for a skilled, tactful and service oriented Driver to provide efficient driving, administrative and delivery services to SANAC structures. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing safe, reliable and professional transportation of the principal and designated personnel and assist with office administration where required. He/she should maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism, be able to work independently, and always representing SANAC in a positive manner.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to):
- Perform tasks associated with the transportation of documentation, material, equipment and personnel to and from the SANAC for both internal and external stakeholders • Pick up and Drop off SANAC staff and other authorized delegates at agreed locations. •Work with the office to manage daily vehicle and trip scheduling as needed. •Maintaining accurate records and paperwork on all vehicle-related purchases and maintenance. •Safely and responsibly performing all official travel using SANAC vehicle. •Ensure all vehicles paperwork to be properly kept and filed. • Complete internal transactional documentation (e.g. log sheet, documentation in delivery book/register. •Provide support around the office as needed, including but not limited to sorting and receiving post, sorting documents, filing, photocopying, scanning and shredding of documents. •Assist with recording assets in the office. •Assist around the office with light replacement, fixing of plug points, network connections, windows, ceilings, doors, blinds, taps, toilets, water cooler bottles replacements/order and etc. •Assist with storerooms arrangement and management. •Assist Ordering and pick up of groceries for the office. •Undertake other tasks in line with his/her competencies, as assigned by management, and provide appropriate backstopping for absent colleagues. •Provide and perform any required administrative support to the Office and messenger services . •Ensure SANAC vision, mission and values are reflected in all job outcome.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Matric or Grade 12 certificate
- A valid code 10 (EC1/EC) driver’s license.
- Valid Professional Driver’s Permit.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a driving/messenger services environment.
- Working level of English as well as knowledge of other official local languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Literate
- No Criminal record
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized, ability to prioritize, plan and multi-task
- Proactive, Team player and Willing to learn
- Knowledge of principles and methods of moving people and goods or equipment
- Able to work under pressure, manage conflicting deadlines and flexible to work on weekend and public holidays when required.
