ACCREDITATION MANAGER: CALIBRATION PROGRAMME
SALARY: COMPETITIVE AND MARKET RELATED PACKAGE
 
The South African National Accreditation Systems (SANAS), based in Pretoria, is listed as a Schedule 3A Public Entity according to the National Public Entities Classification. SANAS is mandated to be the Sole Provider of National Accreditation Services, whereby it formally recognises the technical competency of calibration and conformity assessment service providers that offer testing, inspection verification and calibration services as well as inspection against OECD GLP Principles in both the public and private domains.
 
SANAS seeks to employ an experienced Manager with strong managerial, technical and operational skills. Of paramount importance will be his/her ability to manage the programme, manage a diverse group of contracted assessors as well as participate in and lead various technical committees. The manager will have to have the ability to communicate with a diverse group of regulators and regularly attend and make presentations at regulatory meetings and forums.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
  • Planning and conducting of assessments and ensure consistency and impartiality in the assessment process
  • Manage all accreditation aspects relating to the management, growth and maintenance of the programme
  • Ensure that clients are provided with a satisfactory technical service
  • Conducting monitoring and / or mentoring of assessors
  • Chair relevant specialist technical committee meetings
  • Stakeholder Management, Risk Management and Financial Management of the programme
  • Strategic Management to ensure that objectives and goals are achieved
  • Manage programme team
  • Manage and maintain technical integrity of the programme
  • Participate in public platforms e.g. conferences, assessor conclaves, stakeholder communication meetings and regulatory forums 
 
COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • B Degree in a relevant technical qualification or equivalent qualification (e.g., Science, Engineering and Maths or Management Sciences)
  • Minimum of 8 years operational experience in the relevant technical field of which a minimum of 3 years proven experience in a managerial position
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in ISO/IEC 17025
  • A valid driver’s license (this role requires travelling)
 
COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Project management experience is advantageous
  • Post graduate diploma in Management is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and accreditation requirements
  • Leading, supervising, deciding and initiating action

RISK SPECIALIST (12-MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
SALARY: COMPETITIVE AND MARKET RELATED PACKAGE

SANAS seeks to employ an experienced Risk Specialist with strong managerial, strategic and operational skills on a fixed term contract for 12 months. As Risk Specialist, the candidate will manage the strategic and operational risks and make sure that they are effectively and proficiently managed to ensure a well-governed and compliant organisation.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Risk and Ethics Awareness -primary champion of risk and ethics management at strategic and operational level
 
COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum qualification of B Degree (Business/Accounting/Finance/Auditing/Internal Audit).
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Risk Specialist, Internal Auditor.  
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Compliance and/or Internal Auditing environment. 
  • Knowledge of the Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
  • An Honours Degree in Risk Management or any related postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
 
COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Extensive knowledge and Understanding of the Risk Management principles and guidelines. 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations, and other related legislation including Corporate Governance principles, King IV, Companies Act, PAIA and POPI.
  • Experience in the facilitation of risk management and information workshops
  • Understanding of Ethics management and the Regulatory environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of corporate governance.
  • Proven ability of business process mapping and modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of risk identification, assessment, and risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledgeable of new trends and developments in corporate strategy and business analysis. 
  • Financial, auditing and risk management reporting skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication. 
  • Computer literacy –MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Managerial experience/skills.
  • Analytical thinking, logical reasoning and organisational skills.
