SENIOR SYSTEM DEVELOPER
GRADE: D2
The position reports to Senior Manager: ICT Operations.
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE, PRETORIA                                                                                         
                                                                                                           
JOB PURPOSE
To conceptualise, design, develop, implement, maintain and support of EMC/OpenText Documentum, EMC/OpenText Captiva and Adobe LiveCycle, Connect & Presenter in support of the SAMSA operations systems.
 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Conceptualise, design and development
  • Lead in the development of system architecture in line with applicable best practice.
  • Design User Interface layout according to approved specification.                                      
  • Perform technical / functional specifications to be used.                              
  • Consult with Business Analyst to inform the design of system according to the specifications.
  • Obtain approval of all interested parties through extensive consultations and testing of concepts.
  • Integration of operations, business and performance systems.                                 
  • Configuration of Adobe LiveCycle.                                                                              
  • Configuration of EMC/ OpenText Software.
  • Documentum Software.
  • Customise reports in line with business requirements.
 
 Implement functional specifications:
  • Drive the implementation of functional specifications in integration and development of systems.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on quality assurance.                                         
  • Work with external stakeholders/service providers in implementing/integrating of ECM solutions.
  • Train end users and follow change management procedures to implement system changes.        
                             
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Relevant Bachelors qualification or equivalent qualification in ICT.
  • Relevant OpenText/Documentum Certification (Advantage).
  • SQL
  • ITIL
  • Agile
 
Knowledge and Experience
  • 10 years' experience in applications development including experience in EMC/OpenText, Captiva, xPression, XCP, xPlore and Adobe LiveCycle Software.
  • Experience in leading a team of developers.5 years in a leadership role.
  • Applications Architecture and development in the following:
  • EMC/ OpenText Captiva Input Accel, xPression, XCP, xPlore
  • Document Content Server including BAM
  • Adobe LiveCycle Forms and Content / Presenter
  • Records Manager
  • Java Development
  • C#
  • Web Application Server and understanding of Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Framework.
  • Knowledge of COBIT.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries.
  • Sound Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of Industry best practices in application development and management.
  • Knowledge of applicable programming Languages.
