SENIOR MANAGER: EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT
GRADE: D4
The position reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer.

JOB PURPOSE
  • To act as a strategic partner and a leader in providing employee and labour relations advice, support and provide guidance with respect to collective agreements, employee representative bodies, policies and legislation interpretation/compliance.
  • To drive change management to assist all centres and the organisation in achieving its strategic and operational goals.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Manage all Employee Relations (ER) for the organisation
  • Research, design and develop ER/IR policies, strategies, processes, guidelines, dashboard.
  • Monitor and advise management on amendments or new employment/labour legislation.
  • Ensure that policies are updated accordingly and workshopped to all employees.
  • Set direction in all matters relating to change management, collective bargaining and corporate-wide industrial relations issues.
  • Manage dispute resolution by providing expert advice on ER related issues.
  • Provide coaching, training and development to Human Capital management and employees.
  • Act as liaison between Management and Union Representatives
  • Attend to labour litigation i.e. CCMA and labour court matters.

Drive Change Management in the organisation
  • Design, develop and implement change management strategies, practices and tools for the organisation.
  • Lead change management agenda across the company.
  • Partner with stakeholders in the management, implementation of changes as required in business operations.
  • Give expert change management input by identifying, analysing and preparing risk mitigation tactics.
 
Financial & Risk Management
  • Manage all scoping and costing for related initiatives and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget in a cost efficient and responsible manner.
  • Provide input in the Human Capital Management budget.
  • Ensure full compliance with all related legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Report on and manage information in functional areas to ensure compliance and prevent audit findings.
 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources Management is essential (NQF level 8)
  • An MBA or Masters in HR or related is preferred.
 
Knowledge and Experience
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in HR, of which at least 5 should have been with specific focus on ER and/or Change Management.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, relationship management, strategic negotiations, conflict resolution, including conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Experience in delivering changes which impact on organisational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business on solving business/operational issues through the application of progressive people practices.

High levels of competence on the skills below is a requirement:

  • Expert knowledge of change management practices and methodologies
  • Project Management Skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written)
  • Stakeholder relationship management
