SOUTH AFRICAN HEALTH PRODUCTS REGULATORY AUTHORITY (SAHPRA)
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) is the National Medicines Regulatory Authority established in terms of the Medicines and Related Substances Act, 101 of 1965, as amended, to monitor, evaluate, regulate, investigate, inspect, register and control medicines, schedule substances, clinical trials and medical devices, including IVDs, and related matters in the public interest.
GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME FOR 2026 TO 2027 (12 MONTHS):

The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) invites suitably qualified graduates to apply for internship opportunities for the 2026/2027 financial year.
NOTE:
· Applicants must be unemployed graduates and must not have previously participated in an internship programme.

STIPEND: R16 666.66 PER MONTH

CENTRE: PRETORIA
REQUIREMENTS: Matric certificate and appropriate National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, or related field at NQF level 6 or 7 as recognised by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
DUTIES:
· Assist with allocation of applications and query responses to Evaluators and Quality Control within the agreed timelines.
· Capture evaluation reports on the shared drive and update databases/trackers to ensure traceability and transparency.
· Capture evaluation reports for peer review and/or adjudication.
· Monitor and record evaluators’ capacity and follow up on outstanding evaluations.
· Track application status and provide regular updates to the Portfolio Coordinators.
· Compile basic statistics and performance reports for the Business Unit.
· Support compliance checks to ensure use of the latest Quality Management Systems -controlled templates and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
· Provide administrative support during internal and external audits (including ISO 9001:2015).
· Liaise with internal stakeholders (Evaluators, Technical Screeners, Portfolio Coordinators) and assist with applicant queries where applicable .
· Perform general administrative duties related to workflow management and record management.

· Should you have a foreign qualification, your application must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate (report) from SAQA.
· Incomplete applications or applications without the aforementioned documents or information will not be considered.
· No late applications will be accepted. Any submissions received after the specified date and time will not be considered.
· Due to the larger number of responses anticipated, communication will be limited to short-listed candidates only. Applicants who have not been contacted within three (3) months after the closing date should consider their application unsuccessful.
· Shortlisted candidates will be expected to attend selection interviews at a date, time, and location as specified by SAHPRA.
· Applicants should note that pre-suitability checks will be conducted after they have been shortlisted. Their appointment is subject to positive outcomes from these checks, which include security clearance, verification of qualifications, criminal records, credit checks, citizenship status.
