WORKER: ECOTOURISM X 5 
Status: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) 
Location: Ecotourism: Sabie Museum 
Grade: A1 
Reporting line: Supervisor: Ecotourism 
 
Role Mandate 
To ensure that Ecotourism facilities are kept clean, neat and in good working condition targets in accordance with Ecotourism BOP standards. 
 
Key Accountabilities 
  • Ensure that projects are done timeously and all standards are met as required 
  • Clean huts where necessary before hikers arrive where there are no caretakers, clean open areas over week-ends and during public holidays and be prepared to be on standby over peak periods 
  • Be available when there is a search and rescue operation, and assist with collecting of hikers on open ended trails 
  • Ensure that risk assessments are done to prevent damages or causes risk 
  • Be courteous and friendly to visitors whilst working 
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Grade 10 
  • Driver’s License, chainsaw operator and brush cutter operation will be added advantage 
  • Minimum of 2 Years’ experience as a handyman, Maintenance, Brushcutter, Welding, Drilling and Chainsaw Operator

​SUPERVISOR: ECOTOURISM 
Status: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) 
Location: Ecotourism: Sabie Museum 
Grade: C2 
Reporting line: Ecotourism: Officer 
 
Role Mandate 
To serve as a first-line supervisor responsible for ensuring that the team meets its production targets in  accordance with Ecotourism BOP standards. 
 
Key Accountabilities 
  • Plan, organise, and coordinate daily tasks within the operation 
  • Ensure adherence to established productivity standards. 
  • Resolve issues related to the installation and maintenance of water systems, including pipes, pumps, toilets, taps, and water tanks. 
  • Monitor and control operational activities in line with Ecotourism BOP standards 
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve set production and performance targets. 
  • Take corrective or disciplinary action where deviations from expected performance occur. 
  • Complete the Production Control Sheet (PCS), timesheets, and other administrative documentation timeously. 
  • Ensure the proper and efficient use of tools, equipment, fuel, and other operational resources. 
  • Ensure vehicle logbooks are accurately completed and submitted on a monthly basis. 
  • Retain and reconcile vehicle fuel slips for accountability and record-keeping. 
  • Maintain professional interaction with employees, visitors, hikers, and contractors. 
  • Ensure huts are opened prior to use and securely locked when not in use or when no hikers are present. 
  • Ensure that the team adheres to all SHEQ regulations and procedures at all times. 
  • Conduct monthly job observations and complete the corresponding checklists. 
  • Perform daily risk assessments and facilitate toolbox talks before commencing work 
  • Ensure that all team members are equipped with and correctly use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Grade 12 
  • Code EB or higher driver's license with PDP 
  • Supervisor certificate 
  • At least three (3) years’ proven experience within an Ecotourism environment.

​SALES REPRESENTATIVE 

Status: Fixed -Term Contract (4 Months) 
Location: Nelspruit Office 
Grade: C4 
Reporting Line: Manager: Log Sales 
 
Role Mandate 
To drive sales activities within the assigned market by directly marketing and selling logs from designated business units (Plantations), thereby maximising profitability and supporting sustainable business growth in alignment with the company’s vision and values. 
 
Key Accountabilities 
  • Register advertisements with print media to enable interested parties to procure logs from SAFCOL. 
  • Distribute log-requirement questionnaires to all applicants and ensure timely responses. 
  • Analyse data received from applicants and prepare insights to support decision-making. 
  • Draft and complete all required process forms and documentation as necessary. 
  • Monitor delivery performance against monthly volume allocations and liaise closely with Plantations to address variances. 
  • Ensure customer needs are met through effective communication, service delivery, and product availability. 
  • Negotiate with customers regarding product specifications, pricing, and timber volumes, ensuring value creation and compliance with product standards. 
  • Verify customer orders align with allocated volumes/products and submit confirmed orders to the relevant Plantations. 
  • Manage customer credit control in line with approved policies, procedures, and allocated credit limits. 
  • Monitor sales budget and performance targets as set by the Manager: Log Marketing & Sales. 
  • Continuously track, analyse, and manage market and industry shifts to inform sales strategies. 
  • Maintain and grow market share by identifying new customers and exploring new market opportunities to expand direct customer sales. 
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Grade 12 
  • National Diploma in Forestry , Wood Technology or Marketing (NQF 6) 
  • B Degree in Marketing or Sales (NQF 7) – will be an added advantage 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Marketing with at least 2 years in log sales 
  • Knowledge of Log product specifications 
  • Negotiation skills in Forestry products will be an added advantage 
  • Driver’s License – Code EB
