JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Permanent
Location: Nelspruit
Grade: C5
Reporting Line: Manager: Strategic Sourcing
 
Role Mandate
To provide support in the implementation and continuous improvement of SAFCOL’s end-to-end sourcing operations, by analysing spending, proposing new possibilities and participating the delivery of improvement strategies.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Conduct an end to end bid process from publishing of the bid to appointment of the potential service provider
  • Ensure proper record keeping of all bid related documents
  • Represent SCM at the bid evaluation committee
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing operational excellence and cost
  • Develop best practice processes, and works with other departments to enhance the ERP process
  • Coordinate competitive sourcing processes with internal stakeholders (e.g. RFI/RFP)
  • Ensure that bid approval documents are submitted for contract drafting
  • Monitor major vendor performance with business unit relationship owners
  • Ensure value for money and promotes cost saving measures
  • Develop expertise and benchmarking knowledge of assigned categories and major vendors
  • Collaborate and communicates with Manager: Strategic Sourcing to align financial commitments
  • Advise and make recommendations on potential problems and solutions experienced by end users
  • Monitor compliance with legal, contractual, financial and commercial requirements by business departments
  • Contribute to SAFCOL achieving a clean administrative audit outcome, from a unit perspective
  • Provide auditors with the required information on queries
  • Produce timely status reports for strategic sourcing
  • Monitor and manages or escalates risk related to strategic sourcing activities
  • Proactively identify new potential suppliers in line with growth in the industry and actively drives and monitors the use of accredited suppliers
 
Requirements:
  • Diploma in either Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Accounting or an equivalent of (NQF level 6) in the field of Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics Management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Professional Diploma (NQF Level 7) – will be an added advantage
  • 3 – 5 years’ Strategic Sourcing/Acquisition/Sourcing & Procurement experience
  • Valid driver’s licence
