Applicants are hereby invited to apply for a vacancy of Receptionist General Worker-Gauteng at the National Construction Incubator.
 
The core business of National Construction Incubator (NCI) is to develop emerging construction businesses through the infusion of technical and business administration skills so that construction SMMEs can be sustainable in the long-term leading to significant job creation and a positive contribution to the South African economy. In order for NCI to achieve this objective the above vacancy has become available. Suitably qualified individuals are encouraged to apply. Please note incumbent will be based in NCI – Gauteng offices.
 
 Key Competencies:
Good verbal and written communication skills, decision making skills, relationship building, management, teamwork, problem solving, planning, organising and control skills.
 
Key Performance Areas: 
  • Welcoming of guests, determine nature of business, and announces guest to appropriate personnel.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, determining purpose of callers, and forwarding calls to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Taking and delivering messages or transferring calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  • Ensure main voicemail reflects office closings, special events as well as posting office closed signs.
  • Answering questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information requested.
  • Receiving and forwarding incoming mail accordingly`.
  • File and maintain records in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Transmit information/documents to customers, using computer, e-mail.
  • Perform administration duties as required.
  • Assist the branch with clerical duties to include copying and organizing/maintaining files.
  • Assist contractors, BDO and Technical Mentors as and when the need arises.
  • Manage logbook and fleet card.
  • Disburse funds according to approved claims.
  • Record all transactions and file supporting documents.
  • Prepare and submit monthly petty cash reconciliation.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric certificate and Secretarial /Computer certificate.
  • Three years solid experience within a receptionist role.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
  • Knowledge in Microsoft programmes (MSWord/Excel/PowerPoint/etc.)
  • Basic understanding of Construction sector would be an added advantage
  • Ability to speak, read and write at least two of the 11South African Languages, with one vernacular language (advantageous)

TECHNICAL MENTOR 
GAUTENG
 
Applicants are hereby invited to apply for a vacancy of Technical Mentor - Gauteng at the National Construction Incubator.
 
The core business of National Construction Incubator (NCI) is to develop emerging construction businesses through the infusion of technical and business administration skills so that construction SMMEs can be sustainable in the long-term leading to significant job creation and a positive contribution to the South African economy. In order for NCI to achieve this objective the above vacancy has become available. Suitably qualified individuals are encouraged to apply. Please note incumbent will be based in NCI – Gauteng offices.
 
 Key Competencies:
  • Preferably Quantity Surveying and or Construction Management/ Civil Engineering, with verifiable exposure in electrical works, project management and site.
  • Extensive Knowledge of built environment and electrical works pricing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, decision making skills, relationship building, management, teamwork, problem solving, planning, organizing and control skills.
  • Ability to speak, read and write at least two of the 11 South African Languages, with one vernacular language as an advantage.
 
Key Performance Areas: 
Assist contractors in developing effective workflow programmes.
Implement National Construction Incubator mentorship/contractor development programme for clients.
Identify suitable development programmes for all National Construction Incubator clients, utilizing planning tools approved by National Construction Incubator.
Assist and Lobby for more work with client departments within the province.
Prepare reports on financial and technical activities for presentation at Manco meetings.
Technical Mentor- Gauteng
Develop and provide access to systems to enhance programme management role of NCI.
Assist with packaging projects and awarding to contractors in the programme.
Create Linkages with both Material Suppliers and Financial Institutions.
Facilitate handover of contractor’s profiles and performance reports.
Provide technical mentorship support and tools to contractors in the Programme. 
Facilitate workshops for contractors as part of mentorship support.
Conduct Skills Assessment Audit for contractors in the programmes and develop intervention plans.
Extensive Knowledge of built environment and electrical works pricing
 
Minimum Requirements:
 Diploma in Civil Engineering or Building with 8 years ‘experience.
 BTECH/Degree will be highly preferable in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying with 5 years’ experience (with emphasis on electrical knowledge).
 Construction Health and Safety experience (Compliance, Training and Application).
 Be registered with SACPCMP or ECSA or ASAQS as a technician or technologist.
 Driver’s License, code 8 or code 10 and own vehicle
 Ability to speak, read and write at least two of the 11South African Languages, with one vernacular language as an advantage.

Minimum Requirements:

 5-10 year’s work experience in training environment / management
 Accredited Skills Development Facilitator
 Accredited Assessor certification
 Driver’s license and own vehicle.
 Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
