MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To facilitate the implementation of the Seda incubation strategy, capacitate and support technology business incubators to ensure the development of competitive and sustainable enterprises
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Provide operational support in the establishment of technology business incubation and accelerators in accordance with Seda’s Incubation strategy
Provide operational support to existing and new technology business incubators (TBI’s) and accelerators
Monitor and evaluate TBI’s and accelerators performance and recommend appropriate interventions
Network and build effective linkages with relevant stakeholders
Manage the effective performance and efficiency levels of a portfolio of incubators /accelerators
Facilitate and/or provide mentoring and coaching of incubator /accelerator Centre Managers
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Matric (NQF Level 4) plus a National Diploma(NQF Level 6) in Operations Management or Business Management or Incubation Management or Entrepreneurship Management or Project Management or Computer Science
Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Operations Management or Business Management or Incubation Management or Entrepreneurship Management or Project Management or Computer Science as added advantage
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
4-6 years’ experience in Enterprise Development/Technology Business Incubation and Business Advising
Proven experience in an innovation and technology-driven industry or organization
Experience in assessing the viability and sustainability of small enterprises
In depth understanding of the enterprise development and incubation/accelerators ecosystem
Project Management experience
Advanced Computer literacy - MS Office and MS Projects

Formulate and manage the implementation of Incubation strategy and operational plan in line with Seda strategy.
Direct and guide the development of Provincial and Sectoral needs assessments and business cases for establishment and expansion of Incubation network.
Direct and guide the development and implementation of
interventions and support services to optimize and enhance the delivery capacity of technology business centers.
Foster networking and effective linkages with various stakeholders in the small enterprise support arena.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the Incubation and Technology Business Centers performance.
Assure the embedding of risks, compliance and quality improvement in all Incubation business processes and systems.
Manage Business Unit resources (finance, assets and people).
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Matric (NQF Level 4) and a Bachelor Degree plus Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) or Post Graduate Diploma (NQF Level 8) in Commerce/Science/Technology or Engineering disciplines.
Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) as added advantage.
REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
8 - 10 year’s work experience in Incubation, Enterprise Development and Technology Transfer of which 5 years’ experience should have been in Managerial role.
Able to demonstrate:
Direct experience in SMME programmes and / or related development.
End – to – End understanding of business processes to enable all SMME programmes at Seda.
Knowledge of all government Small Enterprise Support Strategy and Programmes.
