MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide strategic business development mentoring and coaching on a one-on-one basis to Emerging Entrepreneurs in Rural and Peri-Urban areas, that will enhance the development and sustainability of the small business.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
❖ Effective implementation of the BESD EE Course.
❖ Implement, co-ordinate and monitor training provision to Emerging Entrepreneurs (EEs)
❖ Manage EDP performance:
❖ Site management and administration
❖ Monitoring and evaluation of training and coaching provision and outcomes, and the application of appropriate measures to ensure quality
❖ Monitor and evaluate the improvement of client business positions.
❖ Facilitate networks and linkages
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
❖ Matric (NQF Level 4) and National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Business Management/Commerce/Economics
❖ Services Seta, New Venture Creation Certification – Level 4, will be and added advantage
❖ Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business Management/Commerce/Economics will be an added advantage
❖ South African Citizen or Permanent Residency Holder
❖ BESD experience and knowledge an added advantage
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
❖ Previous work experience in business advisory/consulting/project management
❖ Previous work experience in coaching and mentoring.
Able to demonstrate:
❖ Good understanding and knowledge of small enterprise development sector.
❖ Computer literacy
❖ Understanding of the BESD coaching methodology.
❖ An understanding of the Emerging Entrepreneur (EE) course structure and content.
❖ Knowledge of micro-enterprise sector (conditions, issues, challenges).

TASKS AND ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY EDP
❖ Recruitment of Emerging Entrepreneurs (Ees)
❖ Coach 13 Ees on a one-on-one basis on a weekly basis for 15 months.
❖ Conduct 58 coaching sessions per EE over the 15 months of training:
• Minimum sessions to be coached per month is 36 (for 13 Ees)
• Maximum sessions to be coached per months is 56 (for 13 Ees)
❖ Contact time with Ees two (2) hours per session
❖ Inform line manager if an EE learner needs to be replaced.
❖ Collecting and recording accurate information from Ees
❖ Populate the Impact Monitoring System (IMS) with EE information on a monthly basis.
❖ Monitoring the progress of the Ees
❖ Completion of relevant documents such as, but not limited to:
• Coaching agreement for each EE learner
• Skills needs analysis for each EE learner
• IMS Questionnaires for each EE learner
• Close out report for each EE learner
• Success Stories
❖ Attend coaching sessions by Line Manager
❖ Assist with organizing and implementation of Business Clubs
❖ Relevant ad hoc tasks.

To provide business development services primarily to micro and small enterprises
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
❖ Provide relevant business advisory services and information to micro and small enterprises
❖ Conduct Business Diagnostics using relevant tools
❖ Facilitate and manage the implementation of interventions and business growth strategies
❖ Monitor and evaluate the improvement of client business position
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
❖ Matric (NQF level 4) and National Diploma (NQF Level 6) qualification in Business Management/Commerce/Engineering/ Project Management
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
❖ 3 – 5 years’ relevant work experience, where at least 2 years’ experience as a business consultant/manager/business owner
Able to demonstrate:
❖ Good understanding and knowledge of the small enterprise development sector
