Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the Buying Support Specialist is to support with data administrative services to the national food buying team by capturing and updating data in the reporting tool according to Shoprite standards to ensure a seamless flow of accurate data and maintain data quality. The role centralises the administration of national food buying data and ensures consistent and high-quality input standards

- Maintain a high level of quality service in support of all national foods buying.
- Accurately capture and timeously correct data quality errors.
- Efficiently, capture, update, verify and report data as per defined data standards and in line with the data quality
- Ensures that the data quality dimensions for accuracy, completeness, consistency and integrity are met for master data.
- Detect and remedy data inaccuracies as soon as they are identified.
- Resolve data quality problems by applying appropriate error detection and correction procedures
- Efficiently implement improvements or changes to business processes, tools, operating procedures, systems and reports
- Maintain master data content, data quality documentation (e.g SharePoint) and version control accurately, ensuring it is always up to date.
- Report and escalate data errors to the line manager that cannot be immediately resolved.
- Monitor, process, and maintain all requested data changes issued to MDQ from various national food buying
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 Certification – (essential).
Experience
+1-year experience in data capturing/administration role or similar role, with some practical knowledge of master data quality operations relevant to executing responsibilities within the function – (essential).
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with exceptional skills in Excel – (essential).
- SAP knowledge - (desirable).
