​CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

5 YEAR CONTRACT
 
The above position is available in the Finance Department at Robben Island Museum (RIM).
The purpose of this position is to oversee the finance unit and assist the organisation with all strategic and tactical matters relating to budget management, cost benefit analysis and forecasting needs.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
• Develop Financial Changes
  • Serve as a member of the executive team and be key in developing and driving operational and financial changes to contribute to a scalable business.
 
• Oversee Monthly Productions
  • Oversee the monthly reports including reconciliations with funders and pension fund requirements, as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive Management, Audit Committee and Council.
 
• Oversee Accounts, Insurance Plans and Inventory Maintenance
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee business insurance plans and medical aid plan coverage analysis.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets to ensure compliance with company policy and legislation.
 
• Develop Financial Plans
  • Develop long-term financial plans in accordance with the strategic business plan, company growth, and market opportunities and direction.
 
• Stable cash flow management
  • Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures and ensure cash resources are available for daily operations and business and product development.
  • Establish and/or oversee all financial and operational controls and metrics within the organization.
  • Analyse current and future business operations and plans to determine financial effectiveness.
 
Requirements and Experience:
• Post Graduate Degree in Accounting/ Finance or any related qualification.
• Registered as a CA(SA) with SAICA.
• Solid working knowledge of investment and capital resource community.
• A minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience of which at least five (5) years must be at Senior Management level.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of the public finance and public entity finances and Budget control.
• Computer Literate ·
• Knowledge of investment appraisal including infrastructure investments

​NETWORK & SERVER ADMINISTRATOR

6 MONTHS CONTRACT
 
The above-mentioned position is available in the Operations Department at Robben Island Museum.
The incumbent will be responsible for the operation and administration of RIM’s internal networks, servers, email and network security systems.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and software, including servers, operating systems, and applications.
• Perform regular checks on the network performance, identify potential problems, and proactively address issues to prevent downtime.
• Develop ICT hardware and functional specifications for the ICT solutions to be implemented.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, hardware failures, and security breaches.
• Firewall administration and overall responsibility for RIM IT security
• Administration of RIM server infrastructure (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory)
• Administration of email server for company-wide email.
• Provide desktop, network and server support for all sites.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats.
• Implement ICT policies and procedures, including written protocols that guide ICT end-users across the organisation.
• Implement and manage regular data backups to protect against data loss and ensuring efficient recovery processes.
• Managing of server backups daily, weekly, and monthly
• Continuously monitoring network performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Managing user accounts, permissions, and access to network resources
• Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports pertaining the current state of ICT infrastructure across the organisation, on server backups and restore. Reports User Account Management. Reports on antivirus and firewall rules. Reports on network performance.
• Create network layouts, selecting appropriate hardware and software, and ensuring proper installation of network components.
• Work extended hours to meet statutory requirements and/or deadlines when required.
 
Qualification and Experience Requirements
• Diploma (NQF 6) in ICT/ Information Systems/ Computer Science or CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA Certifications.
• Advanced Diploma or bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) will be advantageous.
• At least 5 Years’ experience as a Network and Server Administrator.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), routing, switching, and security.
• Experience in working with VLANS, Virtual Server Environment, Wireless Environment
• Experience in working with backup server and access management (preferable Veeam Backup Sever)
• Experience in working with Access Points
• Knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
• Administering networks such as Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
