Network and Server Administrator 
Permanent position: Job Grade 9 
Salary Range- R 430 938,53 - R 603 313,95 
 
The above mentioned position is available in the ICT Department at Robben-Island Museum. 
Reporting to the Unit Manager: ICT the incumbent will be responsible for the operation and administration of RIM’s internal networks, servers, email and network security systems. 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
 Administration and maintenance of RIM’s internal systems. 
 Configuration and set-up of all new server systems required internally for the company’s activities. 
 Firewall administration and overall responsibility for RIM’s ICT security. 
 Administration of email servers for company-wide email. 
 Manage connectivity of the wireless ICT infrastructure 
 Provide desktop, network and server support for both sites. 
 Provide assistance in the development of ICT specifications. 
 Providing network/system support services. 
 Communicate with ICT suppliers 
 Grant and manage access to the RIM’s network. 
 Monitor and manage backup sever infrastructure. 
 
 
Minimum requirements: 
 Matric or grade 12 
 Diploma or degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information System and ICT 
 Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or Microsoft Certified ICT Professional 
 ICT Support short courses such as A+ and N+ 
 ITIL Knowledge, preferable certification 
 At least between 24 months – 36 months or more experience as Network and Server Administrator or similar role as Network Engineer, Server Engineer. 
 
Experience and technical skills required: 
 Virtual Environment VMware ESX / ESXi 5.x Version 6.0 and above 
 Windows Server 2016 Domain Infrastructure management 
 Exchange 2016 
 Knowledge of working with Veeam backup server and replication. 
 E-Mail security: Mimecast and security end point antivirus- Bitdefender 
 Knowledge of working with iLO’s and switches 
 Management of network printers and routers 
 Data recovery and restoration
