APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FROM PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES WHO WISH TO SERVE AS INDEPENDENT MEMBERS OF THE RTIA TECHNICAL COMMITTEE
The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) constituted through the AARTO Act of 1998 (Act No.46 of 1998), requires the services of additional members to serve on the Technical Committee established in accordance with section 7 of the AARTO Act of 1998 (Act No.46 of 1998).
The RTIA is established to promote road traffic quality by providing for a scheme to discourage road traffic contraventions, to facilitate the adjudication of road traffic infringements, to support the prosecution of offences in terms of the national and provincial laws relating to road traffic; implement a points demerit system and to provide for matters connected therewith.
APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
At least 10 year senior/executive management experience, including at least 5 years serving as a member of an oversight structures.
Possess at least a post graduate qualification (Honours/NQF 7) in either Strategy Development/ Communications and Stakeholder Management and/ or Programme and Project Governance and Management.
A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Extensive knowledge and experience of stakeholder management principles.
Extensive knowledge of strategy development and implementation in a public sector environment.
The Public Finance Management Act, 1999 and Treasury Regulations.
Corporate Governance Principles.
Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO).
Knowledge of the Transport sector will be an added advantage.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:
Candidates will be appointed will be for a term of three years and which is reviewable every year.
The qualification verification will be conducted.
The committee is expected to regulate and discharge all its responsibilities as contained in the Committee Charter which sets out the appropriate terms of reference.
The committee meets at least 6 times a year and additional meetings may be convened as deemed necessary by the Chairperson of the Committee.
Remuneration: The successful applicant will be remunerated for preparation and attendance of meetings as per the Board Remuneration Policy. All other refundable expenses are already built into fees.
