The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote safe use of our roads.
Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Security Investigation, the successful incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of investigations on all suspected offenses within RAF and it premises.
Key Performance Areas
Security Investigations
- Aid in conducting investigations into offenses contravening local law or organisational policy committed by RAF staff members and non-RAF staff members.
- Escalate matters of the prosecution to the Senior Officer where applicable.
- Aid in the conducting of security risk assessments for the entire organisation as well as guide the implementation of corresponding mitigation measures.
- Conduct research on technical advice regarding the requirements and specifications for strengthening existing and new building security systems are provided.
- Liaise with SAPS.
- Documenting and safeguarding of evidence and testimony for court and disciplinary hearings.
Complaints Management
- Manage the complaints system to ensure that all complaints are logged and discussed with the respective official.
- Discuss mitigation/solutions to complaint areas with relevant official.
Reporting
- Manage the security and storage of information, evidence and documents related to investigations.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulation reports.
- Contribute to the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal and external parties including local law and other enforcement authorities, as necessary to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the investigation process.
Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma in Security Management/ Criminal Justice/ Forensic Science or related qualification.
- PSIRA Grading.
- Relevant 3 years’ experience in a Security Investigation related environment.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required
- Planning, organising and coordinating.
- Personal mastery.
- Judgment and decision making.
- Ethics and values.
- Client service orientation.
- Knowledge on Management of Information Secuirty Systems (MISS) and MPSS.
- Knowledge on Information security strategy and management.
- Information security and/or privacy awareness.
- MS Office Skills.

Key Performance Areas
Security Plans and Systems
- Assist in the development of security plans and systems to secure all people on company premises and property.
- Keep up-to-date with security investigation trends and provide insights to the manager on emerging issues, risks, and the implementation of changes required and insights on policy matters.
- Liaise with SAPS.
- Ensure the provision of evidence and testimony in court and disciplinary hearings.
Security Investigations
- Conducting investigations into offenses contravening local law or organisational policy committed by RAF staff members and non-RAF staff members.

- Provide technical advice regarding the requirements and specifications for strengthening existing and new building security systems are provided.
Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of Regulation reports.
- Aid in the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
- Report regularly and periodically perform necessary submissions as and when required to provide progress updates and/or inform management decisions.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Aid in the maintenance of relationships with vendors, service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.
Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma in Security Management/ Criminal Justice/ Forensic Science or related qualification.
- PSIRA Grading.
- Relevant 4 years’ experience in a Security Investigation related environment of which 1 year must have been on a supervisory level.

- Thorough knowledge on Management of Information Secuirty Systems (MISS) and MPSS.

Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Security Investigation, the successful incumbent is responsible for professionally executing internal and external stakeholder vetting in accordance with the relevant internal policies and procedures in order to ensure the safety of RAF and non-RAF staff members.
Key Performance Areas
Security Compliance and Background Checks
- Record, control and maintain all sensitive assets.
- Update security requirements and reflect these in the company's processes.
- Maintain the security of information as defined in the security manual.
- Monitor policies and procedures so that the business remains compliant with current security guidelines and legislation.
- Conduct security clearances for internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate the pre-screening and vetting clearance application process.
Risk Management Contribution
- Contribute to the company's Business Continuity Plan ensuring baseline security.
- Support the manager with security training and awareness initiatives.
Reporting
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulation reports.
- Contribute to the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
Stakeholder Management
