Introduction
The Senior Officer: Technology Support is accountable to provide technical support to users to ensure that hardware and software allocated to them operates as expected.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas
Customer Service
  • Receive calls from senior customer engineer/help desk.
  • Verify/identify problems with help desk.
  • Contact users to get clarity on problems and trouble shoot.
  • Provide telephonic support to users if possible.
 
IT Support
  •  Follow a checklist method to ensure that you do not overlook anything.
  •  Research and recommend better ways to reduce IT user problem
 
Hardware maintenance and Repairs
  • Report on uneconomical repairs
  • Schedule and administer regular maintenance of IT equipment
 
Network & Telephone support
  • Provide daily operations support and maintenance for network and telephone infrastructure (1st line support).
  • Proactively monitor network and telephone infrastructure to provide stable, dependable services, by working with specialist
 
CSN Support
  • Respond to remote/satellite customer call [1]outs (hardware, software and network calls).
  •  Provide telephone infrastructure (1st line support).
 
Asset Management
  • Maintain and update a register of all IT assets.
  • Provide technical advice on hardware and software to be produced by users
 
Research and Development
  • Research on new problems/challenges as they occur.
  • Share information with technical staff and document solutions found.
 
Reporting
  • Aid in the development of functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
  • Report regularly and periodically perform necessary submissions as and when required to provide progress updates and/or inform management decisions.
 
Stakeholder management
  • Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aid in the maintenance of relationships with vendors, service providers or procurement teams   and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Information Technology related qualification.
  • Relevant 4 years’ experience in system support environment.

Introduction
The Road Accident Fund’s (RAF’s) mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner, and to actively promote the safe use of our roads.
 
The RAF invites suitably qualified graduates to apply for its Graduate Development Programme in Medical Management. The programme will run for a period of 18 to 24 months.
The graduates in training will be developed in their roles as part of a formal development programme to ensure that experience is acquired, and sufficient skills are available to the business. The graduates in training will learn how to apply theory in practice as part of the programme outcomes.
 
Purpose of the Graduate Programme
The Graduate Development Programme offers opportunities for the development of young, high-potential individuals from diverse backgrounds for our future growth, including an opportunity for relevant work experience that aligns with the graduates’ skill sets and identified talents.
The programme will provide graduates with real work experience to explore and expand their raw talents within this department. It focuses on developing and honing technical, business and leadership skills as well as setting the stage for dynamic growth.

Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Specialist: Data Analysis and Reporting, the successful incumbent is responsible to manage business information by analysing and conducting research for reporting purposes and providing statistics for forecasting purposes to enable effective decision making. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible to implement rigor and desired practices for effective and improved claims reports and claims information collation with a specific focus on a particular region.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the Collation, Interrogation, Analysis, Compilation, and Communication of Accurate Data and Reports Across Operations and All Other Organizational Business Functions
▪ Gather requirements, define and develop data extraction queries using SQL, Power BI, SAP BI or any other relevant tool across all systems to address business needs.
▪ Perform analysis on all qualitative and quantitative data.
▪ Gather requirements and develop various templates in the form of excel, access or system applications to gather pertinent business data for analysis and reporting.
▪ Provide relevant statistical reports for forecasting purposes.
▪ Prepare, write and manage reports, reporting templates and presentations for monthly/ quarterly/ ad hoc submissions to communicate insightful, rigorous and thorough data and analytics.
 
Timeous, accurate, and Effective Claims Information, Analysis and Reporting
▪ Compile data, reports and assigned tasks timeously and accurately.
▪ Proactively gather information and engage stakeholders to assist with claims reporting or to improve reporting accuracy.
▪ Perform reviews and analysis of all business-related data and data used for reporting purposes to ensure accuracy and integrity of data consumed by business.
▪ Guide staff on how to compile data templates, analyse data reports and provide support as it relates to operational performance management.
 
Provide Daily, Weekly and Monthly Strategic and Mandated Reports as per Business Categories and Metrics
▪ Prepare frequent data, reports and dashboards to address business needs and track business objectives.
▪ Prepare insights and advice on the best possible interventions that operations can implement to achieve business objectives.
▪ Develop, implement and manage reporting methodologies for operational and financial reporting.
▪ Assist with data and reports for annual reporting requirements, e.g. annual report, annual financial statements, AGSA data needs, etc.
 
Manage and Facilitate Data Related Requirements between Operations and ICT
▪ Facilitate the resolution of data related queries/ anomalies and changes between operations and ICT.
▪ Coordinate with operations to determine reporting requirements to confirm data requirements.
▪ Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the existing and planned claims systems and provide inputs and advise that may improve data accuracy.
▪ Translate and document existing data queries, data requirements and reporting requirements to ensure data governance, internal continuity, capacity building and continued improvement in accuracy.
