Purpose of the Job: To provide administrative support for the Officer, Senior Officer and Team Leader to ensure that the branch is run efficiently and effectively.
 
Key Performance Areas
 
To follow up on queries from stake holders.
•    Telephone calls.
•    Checking correspondence. 
•    Sending out letters. 
•    Draft undertaking letters where applicable.
 
Completing payment requisition on offers made.
•    Expenditure authorization. 
•    Check list. 
•    Obtain relevant signatures in terms DOA
 
Drawing and filing of correspondence received.
•    Request file from CAFS.  
•    Print all relevant emails / letters received via post.
•    Placing of documents on file daily.
 
Updating claims system.
•    Draw file from CAFS.  
•    Update claim viewing with all relevant information.
 
Collecting and delivering files to all relevant departments.
•    Request files from Assessor and ensure that it is delivered to relevant department timeously.
 
Sending of file copies to relevant stake holders  
•    Obtain file from CAFS.  
•    Have copies made and send to relevant stake holders
 
To receive new claims and conduct duplicate checking. 
•    Check and verify all claims data.
•    Use claims system to conduct duplicate checking and complete checklist.
•    Use the payment system to check duplicate payments
•    Use the Home Affairs database to check mortality.
 
Qualifications and Experience
•    NQF 4 (Matric or Grade 12) qualification. 
•    Computer literacy
•    Relevant 1 year experience in claims handling environment and administration.

  • Certified Operational framework like ITIL v4 process.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is an added advantage.
  • Relevant 5 - 7 years’ experience in Networking and Security environment.
  • Experience in Cisco firewall implementation and management.
  • Experience in full implementation of secure corporate network.
  • Experience in deployment of Cloud platform network services i.e. SDWAN is an added advantage.

Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Claims Assurance, the successful incumbent is responsible for the administration of claims assurance to assist in the protection of the RAF’s financial exposure on claims and to help manage those exposures that can produce financial loss, and to support the RAF in the reduction in litigation costs, inflated settlement offers, fraud, improved litigation outcome, and uniformity of processes and procedures by claims staff.
 
Key Performance Areas
 
Provide Leadership in the Claims Assurance Management
  • Ensure that claims assurance is effectively conducted and finalised in accordance with defined processes and procedures, and timelines.
  • Ensure all required supporting information is attached to claims assurance requests before processing.
  • Ensure all claims assurance requests are reviewed in a timely and correct manner.
  • Ensure that complete diary notes are made on the Claims Assurance Management System on a daily basis.

This role will further manage the end-to-end delivery of digital solutions, fostering agile delivery models, collaboration and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget and meet or exceed quality standards while maintaining alignment with the RAF’s strategic goals.
 
Key Performance Areas
 
Product Quality and User Experience
  • Implement regular user testing sessions to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply industry-standard QA practices, including automated and manual testing, to ensure product quality.

Key Performance Areas
 
Enterprise Risk
  • Ensure that effective and efficient risk management policies, processes and strategies are drafted, implemented and maintained.
  • Conduct and facilitate Risk management workshops with business units and assist with RAF Executive Team and RAF Board workshops.
  • Assist with the preparation of the RAF strategic Risk register in line with King III guidelines and NT Risk management framework.
  • Consolidate key business unit risks and relevant mitigation strategies and report to Senior Manager.
  • Make recommendations on the implementation and refinement of appropriate Risk Management software.
  • Quarterly risk management meetings to update RM mitigation strategies.
  • Provide required information for the RMEC pack

Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Monitor the implementation of the RAF and business unit Risk mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate the development of a risk management culture which includes training of staff on risk management policies and practices.
  • Maintain a register of control breakdowns and follow up on the progress being made by management in controlling risks for allocated business units.
  • Monthly task status reports progress reports to Exco and completed task status reports to Internal Audit.
  • Quarterly follow up and reporting on the strategic risk register to the RMC.
 
Policy Review and Implementation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policy, procedures and processes.
  • Keep up to date with effective policy and practice execution strategies.
 
Reporting
  • Ongoing reporting to the Senior Manager Risk.
  • Timely submission of RAF Strategic and Operational Risks to Internal Audit on an annual basis (by March each year) for allocated business units.
  • Annual reporting in respect of the Risk elements of the Annual report to CFO.
  • Preparation and consolidation of RISK information to the Risk Management Committee on a Quarterly Basis.
 
Financial Management
  • Ensure financial management of Risk Department.
  • Ensure Policies and procedures contain appropriate internal controls.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in internal controls.
 
Strategic Leadership
  • Facilitate and direct Risk Management workshops and assist with RAF Executive Team and RAF Board workshops.
  • Ensure that the Risk mitigation strategies are appropriate, implementable and associated targets are achievable for allocated business units

PAIA Management
  • Monitor compliance with all PAIA legislation.
  • Ensure the evaluation and approval requests for access to information received in terms of the grounds set out in PAIA, within the time constraint or any extended period.

People Management
  • Ensure the sourcing, development and retention of a high-performance team.
  • Manage staff in the department to ensure that they achieve their objectives in line with the strategic objectives of the RAF. Manage the implementation of human capital processes and procedures to control/regulate workplace conflict and/or institute corrective measures and consultation processes to address deviations from standards.
  • Allocate, direct, motivate and evaluate subordinates to help them achieve their individual goals.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent.
  • Post graduate in  Law related qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant 6 - 8 years’ experience in a PAIA related environment of which 2 years must have been on a management/ supervisory level/ area of expertise.

Provide Leadership in the Claims Assurance Management
  • Manage, monitor and ensure that claims assurance is effectively conducted and finalised in accordance with defined processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all claims assurance requests are reviewed in a timely and correct manner.
  • Ensure that complete diary notes are made on the Claims Assurance Management System daily.
  • Ensure that proper records and systems are in place for all claims assurance requests received.
