ROAD ACCIDENT FUND (RAF)
 
The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote the safe use of our roads.
 
The Organisation requires the services of qualified individuals for the following positions on an Eighteen (18) Months Fixed Term Contract. The position will be based at the Pretoria Regional Office.

TEAM LEAD: REPRESENTED CLAIMS (DETERMINATION) T.A.S.K GRADE 13 (X2)

Purpose of the Job: To provide management and guidance to team of subordinates to ensure that the department is run efficiently and effectively.

Key Performance Areas
Effective and efficient supervision of subordinates.
· Assess the workflow of the general damages and earnings assessors.
· Provide technical support to subordinates.
· Directing tasks to subordinates and establish work schedules and to coordinate activities within work units.
· Report of planned activities of the section.
· Approve GD/LOE offers in accordance DOA
 
Ensure implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
· Research, analyse and evaluate new service delivery methods, procedures and techniques.
· Ensure the application of rules and procedures to ensure high level of activity.
· Ensure monitor that the daily targets are accomplished.
· Ensure that work related problems are resolved expediently.
 
Report on the performance of the section
· Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to senior management.
· Ensure effective and efficient recording of daily activities of the section.
· Compile monthly progress reports.
 
 
Ensure adherence to corporate governance within the section.
· Ensure execution of targets in accordance with DOA
· Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures within the section
· Ensure that the usage and allocation of resources within the section is in line with the PFMA.
 
To promote good working relations with stakeholders
· Facilitate communication with all levels of stakeholders.
· Ensure that the RAF values are adhered to.
 
Effective and efficient human resource management
· Ensure proper planning and allocation of consistent workload within the section.
· Monitor performance of employees.
· Identify and ensure sufficient training and development of trainees.
· Facilitate weekly lead team meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
· Ensure that good employee relations is maintained
· Ensure that all employees have entered signed performance contract agreements.
· Provide ongoing support and coaching for employees.
· Conduct employee review assessment
 
Qualifications & Experience
· NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Legal related qualification.
· Relevant 5 years’ experience in claims environment of which 2 years is supervisory experience.

Remuneration
A total cost to company of minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R591, 298 Per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.
