Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Senior Manager: Programme Management Office, the successful incumbent will be responsible for preparing governance documents in line with the prescribed methodology of the PMO Plan; to execute and finalise projects and programmes according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role will be working across a range of simple and complex projects including programmes and with cross-functional team members and external service tasked with managing and mentoring junior project managers within the PMO.
 
Key Performance Areas
  • Define project plan and scope.
  • Develop full-scale project plan.
  • Conduct and facilitate project meetings and administration.
  • Monitor and report on status of project efforts.
  • Proactively mitigate project risks and report on all issues and risks.

  • Develop and maintain project documents in a systematic manner.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager: PMO, Senior Manager Business Analysis and stakeholders to ensure proper engagement.
  • Take responsibility for managing, planning, scheduling, estimating, controlling and delivering all activities for projects.
  • Facilitate project and steering committee meetings.
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 in Commerce/ Science/ Engineering/ Project Management or related equivalent.
  • Postgraduate Diploma/ Honours Degree/ Professional Qualification Degree @ NQF Level 8 will be advantageous.
  • Certification in project management (Prince 2 Practitioner, PMP, MSP or PgMP will be an advantage).
  • COBIT 5 Foundation certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Membership of project management professional bodies (PMI, PMSA, PMISA Chapter and ISACA) will be an advantage.
  • Programme management training will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 6 – 8 years project and programme management work experience, of which 2 years must have been on management/ supervisory level/ area of expertise.
  • Experience in managing transversal projects.
  • Experience in managing change within a project is essential.

Remuneration 
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R911 075.00 per annum, negotiable.

NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in manner that will suit their needs".
