Purpose of the Job: Attend to litigated maters by investigating, assessing and settling defended claims with the view to reduce the number of matters that proceed to trial and to provide supervisory function to the team.
Key Performance Areas
Supervise unit to conduct preliminary assessments and recommend on the appointment of experts.
- Ensure that the unit Investigate, evaluate and settle claims to contribute to a reduction in matters that proceed to trial.
- Closely monitor and take actions to manage the litigation process.
- Report on trial outcomes and out of court settlements for the unit.
- Keep records of statistics and compile monthly reports.
- Effective communication with various departments on problems experienced and solution thereof.
Establish and maintain positive external stakeholder relations.
- Establish and maintain contacts with the legal community, other agencies and courts.
- Network with panel attorneys, exchange opinions /ES to settling matter.
- Liaising with panel attorneys on block settlements and early settlements.
· B Degree in Law at NQF Level 8
- Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court.
- Relevant 4 Years' experience in the claims/litigation environment of which 1 year must be on supervisory level.
Technical and behavioural competencies required:

Remuneration:
Total cost to company of the minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R502 953.00 per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs"
