Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Application Development and Support, the successful candidate will be accountable to develop new applications/ systems in accordance to business requirements.
 
 
Key Performance Areas
Development
  • Design the system in accordance with architectural standards.
  • Develop programs according to the RAF standards and requirements daily.
  • Document programs and assist in training manuals.
  • Facilitate software testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Fix the bugs/ defects as reported by the testing process.
  • Draw logical flow charts for every program.
  • Write help procedures for all coded applications.
  • Keep records of all programs in application register and configuration management.
     
Integration
  • Develop the interfaces (coding) as described in the development activities category.

 
Mentoring
  • Mentor the team members.
  • Keep up with software trends.
  • Transfer skills to other staff.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to application support for various level.

Reporting
  • Report any roadblocks to the application development.
  • Prepare status report on the progress of development of module.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 in Information Technology related qualification.
  • Microsoft Certified Application Developer is an added advantage.
  • Certification in ITIL is an added advantage.
  • Relevant 5 – 7 years' experience in Software Development environment of which 2 years must have been on a supervisory level/ area of expertise.
  • Java Certification is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server is an added advantage.

Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R668 907.00 per annum, negotiable.

NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs".
