Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: SAP Technical Operations, the successful candidate will be accountable to ensure efficient SAP system/ server administration and SAP User administration.
Key Performance Areas
Installation and Configuration
- Performs SAP Basis Administration including, but not limited to, providing support for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Basis component of SAP systems, problem analysis and resolution, and providing assistance in the planning, design, architecting of systems interfaces with multiple project stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test, training and production).
- Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instances.
- Design and implement an optimal SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability.
- Install and configure all required SAP database servers and application servers.
- Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/ import client) as required.
Server Maintenance
- Work together with the Server administrators to make sure that server is designed and setup according to SAP best practice.
- Prepare the schedule for the backups and get a sign-off from the manager.
- Perform SAP system capacity management (Disk, CPU and Memory) and provide forecasting information.
- Define system settings and client settings based on the system and client roles.
- Create the user access architecture.
- Perform SAP license management.
- Prepare reports on incidents and SLA violation.
- Prepare reports in capacity of the servers and utilization.
- Prepare report on periodic backup and get a sign-off from the manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 in Computer Science/ Engineering or Information Systems.
- SAP Basis Certification.
- Certificate in ITIL.
- Certification in SAP NetWeaver Technical Administration 7.0 (with Database).
- Relevant 5 – 7 years' experience in SAP Basis administration with Unix and Oracle DB administration environment of which 2 years must have been on a supervisory level/ area of expertise.

Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R668 907.00 per annum, negotiable.
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs".
