Purpose of the Job: To manage the operations of the Post Claims Settlement in the following Units: Patient Outreach, Case management and Undertakings.

- Develop the business plans for the Post Claims Settlement Unit aligned with the RAF strategic plan of the RAF
- Manage the activities of the Post Claims Settlement Unit Team Leaders
- Mobilize employees within the Post Claims Settlement Unit to actively practice the RAF Mission, Vision, Values and strategic objectives
- Provide technical assistance to employees within the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Directly supervises team leaders within the Post Claims Settlement Unit
Ensure proper management of financial resources - Prepare the annual budget for the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Ensure that employees adhere to the PFMA
- Effective management of the Post Claims Settlement Unit cash flow
- Monitor the department expenditure
- Report on performance of the Unit
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to senior management
- Ensure effective and efficient recording of daily activities of the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Compile monthly performance reports of the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Ensure timely compilation of financial reports
Establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders - Facilitate communication with all levels of stakeholder contact
- Ensure that RAF values are adhered to in all the dealings with stakeholders
- Ensure adequate representation of the fund in relevant external activities and events
Effective and efficient human resource management - Ensure proper planning and allocation of consistent workload within the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Monitor performance of teams against planned activities
- Identify and ensure sufficient training and development of employees within the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Facilitate weekly team leads meetings and monthly departmental meetings to ensure maintenance of the crucial interface between management and staff
- Ensure that good employee relations are maintained
- Provide ongoing support and coaching for employees
- Ensure that all employees have entered /signed performance contract/agreement within the Post Claims Settlement Unit
- Conduct periodic employee performance review and assessment
Qualifications and Experience
- NQF Level 7 (Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma) in medical related qualification to
- discipline
- NQF 8 (Post graduate Diploma/Honours Degree/ Professional Qualification Degree) advantageous
- 6-8 working experience in a claims environment of which 2 years must have been at a manager/supervisory level
- Experience in medical tariff administration, adjudication of medical expenses – medical-aid/social insurance sector and health risk management systems.

Remuneration
Total cost to company of the minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R766 887.00 per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs"
