Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the General Manager: Ethics, the successful incumbent will be accountable to implement and tactically manage all ethics initiatives at the operational level in the organization.
 
 
Key Performance Areas
Create Ethics/ Values Awareness for Employees and External Stakeholders
  • Plan, organize and facilitate ethics/ values and related codes/ policies awareness campaigns.
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with other business units and combined assurance service providers on ethics/ values awareness.
  • Plan, organize and conduct ethics desks and talk for employees.

Ensure Effective Management of Ethics Strategies and Tools
  • Create awareness on ethics hotline, governance registers, ethics webpage on Rafzin.
  • Implement the ethics strategy and provide guidance and advice to the business.

Ensure Effective Management of the Ethics Database for all Governance Registers
  • Establish, maintain and update electronic and manual database for all governance registers.
  • Monitor the management of the ethics database for all governance register.

 
Ensure Continual Liaison with Relevant Stakeholders for Optimal Coordination of Efforts for Ethics Management Activities
  • Plan and organize ethics champions' forums on half-yearly basis.
  • Attend combined assurance service providers' meetings as required and provide feedback on meetings' deliberations.

Ensure Effective Management of Ethics Knowledge Base Based on National and International Best Practices in Ethics Management
  • Prepare, maintain and update a distribution list of executives, managers and ethics champions for Ethics' to distribute Business Direct to them.
  • Draft ethics articles for publication in the Ethics Newsletter.

Ensure Effective Management of the Review Processes of Ethics Codes and Related Policies
  • Monitor and keep track of the review dates for ethics codes and related policies as per the Regulation Unit's framework.
  • Conduct research on best national and international practices and standards to inform the review of ethics codes and related policies with the Regulation Unit.
  • Draft and submits necessary changes to ethics codes and related policies for consideration.

Ensure Compliance with Governance Requirements for Effective Management of Ethics in the Organization
  • Monitor and keep track of compliance requirements of the Ethics Office with the Regulation, Risk and Compliance Units with the view to address them timeously.

Ensure Effective Case Management Relating to Declarations of Interests; Gifts, Hospitality and Benefits; Staff Claims; and Whistleblowing
  • Assist in managing the oversight of Ethics Investigations.
  • Assist in providing advice and guidance on all ethics-related matters including declarations of interest; gifts, hospitality and benefits, staff claims and whistleblowing.

Prepare Management Reports Regarding Ethics Activities, Trends, Statistics and Risks
  • Draft Ethics reports for submission to relevant stakeholders on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Keep track on the submission dates of ethics reports to relevant stakeholders.


 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF Level 7 in Business Ethics or Compliance related qualification to discipline.
  • Post graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree/ Professional Qualification Degree @ NQF Level 8 will be advantageous.
  • Ethics Officer Certification by Ethics Institute of South Africa is a requirement.
  • Relevant 6 - 8 years' experience in Ethics/ Compliance environment of which two (2) years must have been on a management/ area of expertise.
  • At least two (2) years in loss of income damages quantification.

Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R911 075.00 per annum, negotiable.

NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs".
