Purpose of the Job: To provide leadership and direction to the Legal, Compliance and Regulation Department in line with the strategic objectives of the organisation as determined by the Board of the RAF.
Key Performance Areas
· Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the department.
· Provision of legal counsel to the business.
· Ensure resolution of all litigation by or against the RAF, and initiation of all appeals and administrative proceedings.
· Management of complaints from external stakeholders.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote the RAF image.
· Manage the drafting and/or vetting of service level agreements with service providers, and all other transactional documentation required by the RAF.
· Ensure the RAF complies with all relevant and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Work with the Department of Transport, legislators, regulatory agencies, lobby groups and other stakeholders to promote legislative and regulatory amendments that encourage RAF business improvement.
· Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the claims assurance programme and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
· NQF 8 (Post Graduate/Honours/Professional Qualification Degree) related LLB qualification
· Admission as an Attorney.
· Post Graduate qualification in Management/Business Administration will be advantageous.
· Relevant 10-12 years' post articles experience of which 5 (five) years must have been on senior management level.

Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R1 625 685.00 per annum, negotiable.
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in a manner that will suit their needs".
