The Road Accident Fund's mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote safe use of our roads

Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Senior Manager: Business Analysis, Enterprise Architect and Process Management, the successful incumbent will be accountable for creating, managing and determining the flow of data and it's processing across the organisation's IT systems and applications aligned to the organisational strategic data requirements. The role is also responsible for developing a set of rules, policies, standards, frameworks and models that define and govern the type of data collected, how it is used, stored and integrated within the RAF database systems.
 
Key Performance Areas
  • Develop and implements a data architecture and management plan to ensure alignment to best practice and executed in accordance with RAF.
  • Facilitate and document the agreements on appropriate corporate data and its usage (including master data management).
  • Identify and promote best practices for data modelling within information areas across the organization, providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using industry standard data modelling methods and processes.
  • Manage data Architecture and associated risks.
  • Perform administrative duties relevant to the role as and when required.
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • B Degree or Advanced Diploma @ NQF 7 in Information Systems or Computer Science or related qualification to discipline.
  • Post graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree/ Professional Qualification Degree @ NQF 8 will be advantageous.
  • Data Architecture Certification will be advantageous.
  • Relevant 6 – 8 years' experience as Data Architect of which 2 years must have been on an area of expertise/ management level.
  • Extensive expertise in relational databases.
  • Extensive expertise in logical and physical data modelling.
  • Experience in SQL and Oracle.
  • Solid experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems.
  • Solid experience in data mining and segmentation techniques.

  • Knowledge of project management, ITIL and SDLC methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of collecting business requirements from customers and transforming the requirements into DB data processes and data schemas.
  • Knowledge of assessing a broad range of information solutions and products (i.e. document management, collaboration and content management).


Remuneration
Total cost to company applicable to this position is minimum R911 075.00 per annum, negotiable.

NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no contributions from the Employer, successful candidates are required to structure their packages in manner that will suit their needs".
