PURPOSE
The Chief Executive Officer will assist in the development of the Road Accident Fund's (RAF) strategic objectives as well as providing leadership, direction and guidance on the strategic imperatives; ensure execution of the day-to-day operations of the RAF and maintaining stakeholder relations. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient service delivery to the victims of motor vehicle accidents as well as ensuring compliance with all statutory provisions.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure effective and efficient implementation of the objectives of the National Transformation Agenda.
  • Contribute towards legislative   amendments as well as support the legislative processes that the Department of Transport embarks upon.
  • Contribute towards the development of the organisation's mission, vision and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure that the organisation's mandate and strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Provide leadership in the assessment and continuous management of risk within the organisation.
  • Provide quality services and organisational stability through the development and implementation of standards and controls, systems and procedures and regular evaluation requirements.
  • Lead the creation of a solvent, liquid and sustainable organisation.
  • Ensure improved customer focus, operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership in the transformation and capacity building of the RAF.
  • Lead the management of the complex relationships between the organisation and its employees as well as advise on the terms and conditions of employment to meet organisational objectives.
  • Drive the development of Knowledge Management and ensure that information is systematically produced, organised and made accessible to the organisation.
  • Provide effective and efficient general management of the Fund.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION/TRAINING
  • A Bachelor's degree in (Finance or Health or Law) at NQF Level 7.
  • A Post graduate qualification in business/management (NQF Level 8).
  • A Master's degree in Business (NQF Level 9) is advantageous.
 
MINIMUM REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years' experience in an Executive/Exco position.
  • Extensive corporate governance knowledge and experience in both Public and Private Sector with emphasis on Public Sector governance.
  • Having managed a similar complex organisation.
  • Turnaround strategist with proven track record in running a complex organisation.


Remuneration
Salary: Market Related.
