To also assist with the maintenance of the house view as far as it relates to the Non-Consumer Industrials and to supervise analysts.

Purpose of the role:

Minimum Qualifications:
- B Degree (honours) in Commerce, Finance or Business Science.
- At least 5-7 years of relevant experience (SA Industrials, Healthcare, Transport and/or TMT listed equities research will be the focus areas but candidates from other sectors would also be considered if they have the relevant skill sets).
- FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Professional Body/Association:
- CFA / SAICA or Similar membership would be preferred.
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement:
- Investment analysis
- Evaluate market intelligence
- Recommend sector stock
- Stock specific research
- Equity market research
- Complete and customise Excel-based valuation models
- Maintain, develop, and update fundamental equity models
- Corporate Finance/ (M&A) experience would be an advantage
Duties:
- Stock recommendation with detailed investment thesis to develop and customise valuation models
- Detailed presentation of these recommendations to both the Portfolio Manager: Non- Consumer Industrials as well as the Internal Listed Equities team and other relevant committees
- Awareness of portfolio and stock exposures
- Timely maintenance of valuation models to factor for new market information
- Provision of investment thesis, valuations, industry and company information
- Recommendations on Corporate actions to both the Portfolio Manager: Non-Consumer Industrials as well as the Internal Listed Equities team and other relevant committees
- Supervise the analyst

ASSOCIATE: WORKOUT AND RESTRUCTURING

Purpose of the role:
To monitor investments from compliance to legal agreements, investment performance and TOVA issues, including Liquidations and Business Rescue Processes.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- B Com (Honours) in Finance or B.Sc (Honours) in Finance or any other similar commerce, engineering, legal or finance degree
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in commercial/corporate turnarounds and rehabilitation, in an asset management, private equity organisation, financial institution or a consulting firm
- FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in finance, engineering, legal or any other similar relevant degree
- Chartered Accountant, CFA, Master’s degree or Certified Rescue Analyst (CRA) would be an advantage
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement
- Knowledge of credit risk assessment
- Knowledge of Financial Analysis and Interpretation
- A well-developed knowledge of business, management and finance philosophies and practices.
- Ability to apply technical and business understanding to assist with the rehabilitation of non-performing assets.

- Dealing with private sector / commercial workout turnarounds
- Experience in the legal process associated with turnarounds /workouts, business rescue and liquidations.
- Experience in Investment Analysis and Financial Modelling
Duties:
- Prepare submission reports for the various committees and other stakeholders.
- Review submission documents prepared by PMV and ESG for the movement of investments to Turnaround.
- Assist in drafting RFPs for approval by the AFP &/ FP.
- Monitoring of investments against Turnaround Plans.
- Provide early warning signals to the Manager on new developments not already identified at the date of transfer.
- Update database of investee companies, research and analysis for all investments moved to the Turnaround portfolio.
- Conduct portfolio company visits and maintain ongoing interactions with the portfolio companies.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis on investee companies
- Assist in due diligence scoping and conducting due diligence for investments that may be required to implement the turnaround plan
- Assist in the drafting of legal agreements.
- Assist in the restructuring of the transaction.
- Perform/Assist in Valuations if part of the Turnaround Plan
- Updating of valuations model and database
- E-front data capturing (capturing all the investee company's data into the systems).
- Development of post-investment plan to be submitted together with the investment appraisal report
- Assist in managing investees in Business Rescue by Monitoring the BR procedure.
- Assist in managing clients in Liquidation.

OPERATIONAL RISK ANALYST

Purpose of the role:
To identify, assess and mitigate risks within the organization’s operational processes.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Risk or Audit.
- Sound understanding of operational risk management principles.
- Financial services industry knowledge and experience (Preferably Asset Management).
- A good understanding of listed and unlisted investments.
- Minimum 4 years of operational risk experience in financial services.
Duties:
- Conduct day-to-day operational risk activities in terms of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and related frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the Senior Manager: Operational Risk in the identification, assessment, responses, and monitoring of operational risk in the PIC.
- Coordinate the risk analysis activities of the PIC Business Units, including both listed and unlisted investments.
- Work with Compliance, Internal & External Audit functions and other Assurance Providers to direct their efforts towards reviewing controls that mitigate the identified risks across the organization.
- Support the process of identifying and reporting risk incidents and assist in the design of risk mitigation and control procedures within PIC.
- Support process of identifying and reporting issues and actions within PIC.
- Conduct control environment assessments for the organization.
- Conduct, implement and assess key risk indicators.
- Assist the ORM Department with reporting to various governance structures.
