ANALYST: CONSUMER (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)
Job Grade: * D2-D4

Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• B Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
• Registered Persons Exam
• At least 2 to 3 years relevant experience
• Exposure to Equity instruments strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of the requisite industry (value chain, business models, new emerging issues) preferred.
• Broad knowledge of financial markets
Preferred Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree in commerce, finance, or science.
• CA (SA) / CFA or similar
Duties:
• Stock recommendation with detailed investment thesis
• Detailed presentation of these recommendations to both the sector head as well as the Internal Listed Equities team
• Complete and customise valuation models
• Awareness of portfolio and stock exposures
• Timely maintenance of valuation models to factor for new market information
• Provision of investment thesis, valuations, industry and company information
• Provision of timely commentary – dissemination of real-time news-flow
Key Competencies:
• Investment analysis
• Evaluate market intelligence
• Recommend sector stock
• Stock specific research
• Equity market research
• Complete and customise excel-based valuation models
• Maintain, develop, and update fundamental equity models
• Presentation skills
• Communication skills

ANALYST: MARKET RISK
Job Grade: D1 – D5

Requirements:
• B Com, BSc or any related quantitative degree
• 2 – 4 years relevant experience
• FAIS RE 05 certification or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
• Postgraduate degrees and/or CFA, FRM will be advantageous
Duties:
• To identify, analyse, measure, evaluate, monitor and regular reporting of investment risk for listed asset classes (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual reporting requirements)
• Periodic valuation of financial instruments, derivatives, and other structured investment products
• Adherence to market risk policies and guidelines to ensure that risk management controls remain robust within the market risk department
• Compilation of risk reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. management and clients)
• Periodic portfolio analysis (e.g. stress-testing)
• Regular review of pricing models used
• Maintain market and instrument pricing Internal Use Only
Competencies and skills:
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Advanced Excel, MS Access and VBA skills
• Knowledge of Matlab, SAS and/or R
• Knowledge of risk management principles and practices
• Asset management and/or financial services knowledge and experience
• Valuation capabilities (listed and unlisted instruments) and knowledge of valuation techniques
• Financial modelling capabilities (build, maintain and validate models)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
