ANALYST: FINANCIAL (RE-ADVERTISED)
Job Grade: *D2-D4

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• B Degree in Commerce, Finance or Science
• FAIS RE5 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
• At least 2 to 3 years relevant experience (in Equities Research or Actuarial Field)
• Broad knowledge of financial markets
• Exposure to Equity instruments/Research (BUY-side or SELL-side)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Post graduate degree in commerce, finance or science
• CA (SA) / CFA or similar
• Registered Persons Exam
• Strong understanding of the Financials (Banks and Insurance) industry (value chain, business models, new emerging issues)
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement:
• Investment analysis
• Evaluate market intelligence
• Recommend sector stock
• Stock specific research
• Equity market research
• Complete and customise excel-based valuation models
• Maintain, develop, and update fundamental equity models
• Presentation skills
• Communication skills
Duties:
• Stock recommendation in the Financial Services Sector (Insurance) with detailed investment thesis
• Detailed presentation of these recommendations to both the sector head as well as the Internal Listed Equities team
• Complete and customise valuation models
• Awareness of portfolio and stock exposures
• Timely maintenance of valuation models to factor for new market information
• Provision of investment thesis, valuations, industry and company information
• Provision of timely commentary – dissemination of real time news-flow
