SENIOR MANAGER: RECOVERIES AND LITIGATION 
Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable

Purpose of the role: 
To design, implement and manage an end-to-end legal recoveries capability for the Corporation and to maximise cost-effective recoveries, supporting the organization’s Investment strategy. 
 
Requirements:
  • Post graduate degree or certification such as LLM or equivalent 
  • At least 8 – 10 years post admission experience in financial industry and/or investments environment of which 3 - 5 years must be in a role with direct reports 
  • A good understanding of the key areas of the corporation 
 
Duties:
  • To oversee and manage Recoveries and Litigation unit 
  • Provide legal support to the Investment business of the organisation 
  • To conduct research and provide legal opinions 
  • To draft, review and negotiate and finalise litigation agreements 
  • To advise the corporation in Investment litigation 
  • Good governance, including advice on policies and procedures 
  • Reporting to various committees 
  • Lead and Manage Legal Advisor within the unit

Purpose of the role: 
To provide legal advice on listed transactions and commercial law matters and transactions, and investment legal advisory services of the PIC. 
 
Requirements:
Minimum qualifications and experience: 
  • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) 
  • Admitted attorney of the High Court with between 3-5 years post articles 
  • Excellent and good quality drafting of investment agreements 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Laws Degree (LLM) (advantageous) 
  • Postgraduate Degree (with a relevant focus on investment legal)

Duties:
  • Conduct legal research, provide opinions and advice in respect of corporate/commercial law matters and investment legal advisory 
  • Draft, review, and negotiate corporate agreements, including those from corporate transactions 
  • Manage the legal component of Listed Investments transactions 
  • Review documents in relation to derivatives instruments ISDAs and GMSLAs 
  • Identify new amendments to investment legislation that impact PIC and facilitate training for employees. 
  • Manage and coordinate legal instructions and attorneys on the panel 
  • Provide training to staff

Purpose of the role: 
To maximise the value of assets under management by managing the portfolio of assets, monitoring and driving performance of the investments. 
 
Requirements:
 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 
  • B Commerce Degree (finance, engineering, legal) or any other relevant commerce, science and engineering degree. 
  • 4-5 years relevant experience in unlisted investments (Deal-making or advisory) 
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk Assessment 
  • Knowledge of Financial Analysis and Interpretation 
  • Experience in Investment Analysis and Financial Modelling 
  • FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment 
 
Preferred Qualifications :

Duties:
  • Ensure the timeliness and quality of complex portfolio actions to maximise the value of assets under management (such as restructuring, follow-on investments, debt conversion, rescheduling, amendments, and regular waivers). 
  • Build, maintain and manage high-level relationships with investee companies and other stakeholders; conduct regular client visits and ensure client satisfaction. 
  • Monitor investments, review and analyse performance and compliance of investments. 
  • Conduct active investment management focused on value add and successful exits. 
  • Collect and conduct review of portfolio company performance, analysis of investee company reports (such as AFS, Management Accounts and management reports). 
  • Prepare portfolio company reports and portfolio action appraisal reports. 
  • Provide early warning signals for investments and implement remedial action. 
  • Contribute to the knowledge management process (development of lessons learnt and best practices) 
  • Research and sectoral analysis to keep abreast with industry trends to identify growth opportunities and areas of concern
