PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT AND VALUATION ASSOCIATE (ISIBAYA) X2
Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable

Purpose of the role:
To maximise the value of assets under management by managing the portfolio of assets, monitoring and driving the performance of the investments.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Honours Degree (finance, engineering, legal) or any other relevant commerce or engineering degree
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in unlisted investments (deal-making or advisory)
- Knowledge of Investment and Credit Risk Assessment
- Knowledge of Financial Analysis and Interpretation
- Experience in Investment Analysis and Financial Modelling
- FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree (finance, engineering, legal) or any other relevant commerce and science degree
- CA or CFA
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement
- Credit risk and investment assessment
- Financial analysis and interpretation
- Investment performance monitoring, review and analysis
- Investment Report writing
- Negotiation and deal structuring
- Financial modelling, returns and scenario analysis skills
- Demonstrable deal-making experience (Debt, equity and/or quasi-equity)
- Portfolio/Post-investment management (unlisted investments)
- Portfolio company value-add
Duties:
- Develop and implement post-investment plan for the portfolio companies
- Ensure the timeliness and quality of complex portfolio actions to maximise the value of assets under management (such as restructuring, follow-on investments, debt conversion, rescheduling, amendments, and regular waivers).
- Build, maintain and manage high-level relationships with investee companies and other stakeholders; conduct regular client visits and ensure client satisfaction.
- Monitor investments, review and analyse performance and compliance of investment.
- Conduct active investment management focused on value add and successful exits.
- Design and implement exit plans for investment companies.
- Collect and conduct a review of portfolio company performance, and analysis of investee company reports (such as AFS, Management Accounts and management reports).
- Prepare portfolio company reports and portfolio action appraisal reports.
- Provide early warning signals for investments and implement remedial action.
- Contribute to knowledge management process (development of lessons learnt and best practices)
- Research and sectorial analysis to keep abreast with industry trends to identify growth opportunities and areas of concern.
- Assist in any ad-hoc initiatives within the department.

Requirements:

Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the teams by devising and maintaining office systems and but not limited to: document preparations for meetings, diary management, coordination of meetings, accurate minute taking, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate timeous submissions to specified Committees.
- Arrange, coordinate and facilitate meetings as instructed.
- Follow up on transaction disbursements and service provider's payments to ensure payment is made within agreed timelines.
- Manage local and international travel requests by the team and expense budget and ensure correctness in making travel arrangements.

Purpose of the role:
As part of the Multi-Management: Private Markets team; the incumbent will assist the Head of Multi-Management: Private Markets in providing leadership and strategic vision for the fund investment business.
Requirements:
- Honours degree (Hons) (e.g. BCom, BAcc, B Bus, BSc, etc in financial management, finance, investment management or related equivalent qualification)
- A Master’s degree qualification would be advantageous
- 4 to 6 years of investment experience. Private equity, fund of funds or multi-manager experience would be advantageous
- Private equity industry knowledge

Duties:
- Deal sourcing – assist in identifying investment partners and opportunities
- Deal screening – desktop analysis of investment opportunities
- Preparation of preliminary scoping reports
- Assist the transaction lead throughout the investment process
- Assist in conducting and coordinating due diligence on potential investment opportunities
- Assist the transaction lead in structuring and pricing transactions
- Assist the transaction lead in the negotiation of term sheets

- Review and comment on transaction agreements
- Participate in the implementation and disbursement process
- Assist the transaction lead in the handover of approved transactions to various divisions including portfolio management
