EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: OFFICE OF THE CIO

Requirements:
  • An honours degree in Engineering, Commerce or Science 
  • A professional body qualification such as CA(SA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), FRM, PRM, CAIA or a postgraduate degree (Master’s degree) in commerce, science, or engineering. 
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in a private equity firm, investment bank, asset manager or investment holding company. 
  • Proven experience in engaging with executive management/Board. 
 
Duties:
  • Assist in the performance of the Investment division by monitoring the implementation of the Investment Strategy. 
  • Manage and assist the CIO in ensuring that reports, proposals, research required by the Investment Committee, EXCO, Board and Clients are delivered timeously and with the requisite quality. 
  • Provide strategic and tactical support to the CIO. 
  • Collaborate with the heads of business units to determine and prioritise strategies and output. 
  • Assist the CIO in tracking goals and objectives. 
  • Monitoring that proper policies, processes and procedure manuals are implemented and maintained periodically. 
  • Assist with monitoring PIC’s strategic Investment framework for risk management by updating the business unit on the management of risk. 
  • Assist the CIO in managing the internal and external audit process and coordinating the requisite information to be submitted. 
  • Ensure that the deal screening and pipeline are monitored and reported to the CIO monthly. 
  • Coordinating and monitoring that client portfolios are managed against risk impairments by ensuring that service levels are met and monthly reporting on portfolios takes place. 
  • Assist the CIO with assessing the performance of our client portfolios and ensure that remedial action is taken where needed. 
  • Assist the CIO with stakeholder engagement management and Liaise with other departments and heads of divisions in managing the agenda for committees. 
  • Prepare or coordinate the preparation of reports to be presented by the CIO to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Assist the CIO in the daily management operations of the investment division. 
  • Work very closely with the CIO and the personal assistant in managing the CIO's schedule and diary. 
  • Assist with improving efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the CIO output to committees and stakeholders.

ESG MANAGER: SUSTAINABILITY

Minimum Qualifications : 
  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in environmental sciences, economics, management, social sciences, engineering, natural sciences or related fields 
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience, with direct experience in sustainability and climate change. 
  • Must have deep experience in climate change, climate finance, greenhouse gas accounting, carbon footprints, environmental and public policy - development. 
  • Good understanding of climate change and related target-setting methodologies. 
  • Must have past experience in analytical work in climate change adaptation, resilience or mitigation issues. 
  • Knowledge of sustainable financial instruments. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Deep experience in financing operations/investments in projects in green sectors/and/or technologies is preferred. 
  • Past experience in policy formulation and dialogue in complex environments and climate change mitigation or adaptation issues is preferred 
  • Experience in developing Monitoring and Evaluations (log frames), project specific experience 
  • Experience in conducting climate change vulnerability, environmental and social assessments. 
  • Have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical expertise and demonstrate ability to apply this to strategic investment decisions and innovative climate-financed solutions; 
  • Experience in sustainability assurance – i.e. auditing sustainability indicators 
 
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement 
• Knowledge of environment and climate change policy, political economy, strategy and institutions 
• Insights of the politics, institutions and governance issues related to sustainability and climate change to serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and to shape PIC sector policies. 
• Understanding of International regulatory f ramework for environment, particularly climate change, including the Paris Agreement, Climate f inance and leveraging capital markets; Institutional assessment; Legislative f ramework in country for climate change; Institutional capacity building 
• Understanding and application of sector industry dynamics, trends and key players and uses that knowledge to develop sector insights. 
• Sector knowledge and knowledge of the client business to identify unique opportunities to enhance business performance for the client. 
 
Duties:
  • Formulation of PIC’s sustainability strategy f or respective asset classes, including in particular the climate change /biodiversity strategy for AUM and corporate and implementation, monitoring and reporting thereon. 
  • Build, lead, develop and manage the ESG/Sustainability team and manager their behavioural KPI’s 
  • Formulate and manage the Budget for the team 
  • Assist in opportunities to co/finance projects and develop project proposals responsive to the priorities of the PIC’s focal areas/sectors in line with the Climate change/Just transition and Investment strategies. Including the development of new business opportunities in climate change adaptation, resilience and mitigation activities in line with relevant country strategies 
  • Provide advisory services/assistance to PIC and clients regarding Sustainability and Climae Change matters, including consultations with relevant stakeholders as needed. 
  • Ensure that PIC fulfils reporting obligations and any other sources of ESG/sustainability, and climate finance by ensuring that reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR – PROPERTIES LEGAL 
Grade: E1 – E3

Purpose of the role: 
To provide legal services on corporate and commercial law matters and transactions; and investment legal advisory to the PIC with specialization in Property Investment. 
 
Requirements:
  • LLB degree 
  • Between 6 – 8 years post-admission experience in corporate/commercial legal advisory with specialisation in Property Law 
  • Admitted attorney of the High Court with between 6 – 8 years post articles experience 
  • Ability to undertake research, negotiate, draft and implement complex Property Investment contracts 
  • Knowledge Excellent Knowledge of Asset Management, Property Management and Property Development with reference to Property Investments 
  • Experience in governance and compliance structures 
  • Master’s degree such as LLM advantageous • Working knowledge of conveyancing will be advantageous 
 
Duties:
  • Conduct legal research, provide opinions and advice in respect of Property, Corporate and Commercial Law matters with reference to property investment legal advisory
  • Draft, review and negotiate agreements of property and ancillary transactions 
  • Provide legal advisory on properties and ancillary transactions 
  • Manage and/or draft legal Due Diligence 
  • Draft due diligence and other legal reports and present these reports to PIC approving committees and external clients 
  • Advise on and implementation of restructuring existing investments and/or perfection of security 
  • Manage and assist with disputes (litigation, arbitration) of the PIC 
  • Manage, draft or review, conveyancing aspects (transfers, mortgage bonds and servitudes) of properties
