Job description
Job Purpose: Manage the Sales and Marketing of fuel products to the key market segments (Transport/Government/Industry segment) by identifying new market opportunities and maintaining good customer relationship to ensure maximum growth and profitability in line with business objectives.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide inputs in the development of Commercial Business strategies and plans that are aligned with the divisional and organisational strategies to ensure attainment of company goals and objectives.
  • Manage the development and execution of the fuel sales and marketing strategies and plans that are aligned to the business strategy to ensure growth in sales, market share and profitability.
  • Liaise with Pricing & Supply Business Analyst and internal stakeholders (logistics, production, product planning, product development etc.) in generating the performance reports, and monitor & benchmark own cost/ prices based on market trends to ensure profit enhancement.
  • Liaise with local and international regulatory bodies, and government to ensure awareness and compliance with all regulatory, legal, safety and environmental requirements relating to fuels.
  • Liaise with Legal department in managing, negotiating, and maintaining sales contracts with customers/ service providers and identify deviations on terms and conditions of the agreements in accordance with PetroSA policies and procedures to ensure compliance and service delivery standards are maintained.
  • Develop, propose, implement, and update policies, procedures and work practices for fuels and gases to ensure alignment with the legislation, business strategy and best practice.
  • Analyse external global market/ external environment factors and benchmarking for specific business opportunities to evaluate the best outcome and fit with existing business and report on national and international trends and statistics to identify market opportunities and to ensure best practice.
  • Identify and update the risk register by liaising with internal contacts to ensure that all possible risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner to ensure minimise and manage risks.
  • Provide inputs in the development of service level agreements with internal/ external stakeholders which are reviewed on a regular basis and monitor compliance and report on deviations from agreed standards in compliance to policies and procedures to ensure service delivery standards are maintained.
  • Participate and contribute to the implementation of departmental projects/initiatives in accordance with PetroSA’s policies and procedures to ensure project milestones are met, objectives achieved, and effective project structures are in place to ensure continuous business Improvement/ best practice.
  • Develop and implement proper pricing strategies ensure that the company improves its sales revenue and/or profitability, as well as to increase our sales to BEE companies in line with organisational transformational imperatives.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relations and understanding of customers’ short- and long-term strategies to be in position to identify new business opportunities and build alliances where necessary.
  • Manage the supply and marketing of products by providing information to customers in terms of products, prices, discount, and sales terms to ensure proper marketing and supply of products.
  • Monitor and recommend technical products, services and commercial initiatives that will continue to give the company leading edge within the industry by identifying customer needs and business opportunities to ensure business growth and sustainability.
 
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7)/Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Finance/Commerce/Economics
 
Minimum Experience:
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in Sales and Marketing in the Oil & Gas industry
 
Knowledge & Competencies:

Job description
Job Purpose: Provide specialised legal services to all levels of staff and mitigate the legal risk exposure of PetroSA, by evaluating and reviewing high risk/high value contracts and formulating recommendations that protect the organisation's legal interests and maintain its operational practices within the scope required by law.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Play a leading role in the development and implementation of the Legal’s strategy, including formulation of the governance including the development of policies, procedures, and practices, to accommodate changing legislation and ensure compliance to all required legislative guidelines.
  • Form part of the negotiating team and provide specialist input into the structuring of deals for new projects, to ensure that all business ventures adhere to legal prescriptions and legal risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Lead and support the legal team in the settlement of cases, to protect the company’s interests and maintain legal risk at a minimum.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate PetroSA’s legal risk on a day-to-day basis and propose mitigating measures as part of the risk management process, to ensure that legal risks to the organisation are maintain as low as possible.
  • Draft, manage and monitor that legal adheres to the SLA’s entered into with the divisions that fall under the scope of responsibility, to deliver services in line with agreements.
  • Draft contracts and amendments, to ensure compliance with legal requirements, PetroSA Group policies and procedures and minimise legal risks to the organisation.
  • Interface with external counsel in litigations and project work, to ensure that the business interests of PetroSA are protected and to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations.
 
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • LLB and or B Degree equivalent 
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is a prerequisite
 
Minimum Experience:
  • 10 years’ post admission experience of in-house legal work or as a practicing attorney of which 5 years’ experience has been at a management level.
  • Petrochemical (especially upstream, downstream, and maritime) experience will be highly advantageous.
  • Corporate (Mergers and Acquisition) experience would be advantageous.
