Minimum Requirements:

B Tech/BSc Degree in Civil Engineering with 5 years relevant experience in contract management of Civil Engineering Infrastructure Projects.
ECSA registration or eligible to be registered as Pr.Tech Eng /Pr. Eng/PrCPM with SACPCMP, MCC(Municipal Minimum Competency Training) as per regulation 32 of the MFMA
Code B Driver’s licence
Good communication skills in two of the three official Free State Languages
Computer literate (Word, Excel, GIS)

ROLE DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager: Business Improvement, the role will assist idea owners with building capabilities in delivery and execution of ideas and implementation of wiring. Provide oversight, problem-solving support and practical industry expertise, frequently involving facilitating on-site workshops, individual and group coaching, and change management sessions. Responsible to facilitate the effective implementation of the business improvement (BI) process, integration into operations and delivery of identified improvement benefits. Provide support to the idea owners to ensure that projects are completed to the appropriate scope and quality and within the approved cost and schedule allocations with a focus to generate additional profit.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to facilitate the generation of improvement ideas.
Provide support to the Line Management to execute improvement ideas or BI initiatives.
Work in small teams to build the capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and then ensure those results are sustained.
Provide related expertise and BI skills to the operation and expand skill set of the operation; advising on business improvement solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the operation.
Assist Line Management to implement improvement ideas, wiring and coaching in their department.
Encourage Line Management to take ownership / accountability for improvement ideas and wiring.
Monitor improvement initiatives, identify and communicate potential areas for corrective actions to idea owners.
Ensure compliance to statutory requirements, company policies, procedures and COP’s.
Facilitate training / coaching sessions to Line Management related to the BI operating model and systems.
Engage internal and external stakeholders on business improvement related matters, and support the operation on business improvement related engagement.

ROLE DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Manager: Projects, the role will supervise and control the construction work of employees, contractors, site agents/foremen undertaking such work under contract to the Mine.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide subject matter expertise and skills in area of responsibility; advising on solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the department/section.
Acts as a Company representative between Contractors.
Assists the Project team to forecast labour, costs, materials and equipment.
Provide technical advice to contractors.
Responsible to draft scope of work.
Plan and schedule allocated work taking into account customer requirements.
Develop and submit ongoing action plans.
Inspect contractor equipment ensuring compliance with mine and legal standards.
Initiate orders for materials required in order to execute work.
Checks that all ordered items conform to mine design specifications/scope of work and ensures items are clearly labelled and corrected stored for future installations. Ensures deviations are corrected.
Responsible to perform site visits for potential contractors.
Monitor and control contractor performance according to plans and contracts.
Monitors and controls all mechanical/civil/electrical work pertaining to construction work done by contractors through daily inspections and instructs on fault finding and trouble shooting.
Perform on-the-job audits comparing work in progress against contractual requirements.
Inspects construction work daily, with respect to work standards and renders direction to contractors or others as required.
Ensures that all persons under his/her control strictly adhere to all requirements of relevant legislation, Company policies and departmental procedures by holding monthly safety meetings and keeping records.
Monitor contractor waste control and environmental aspects.
Inspects construction work daily, with respect to housekeeping and safety, and renders direction to contractors or others as required.
Take appropriate action on any unsafe acts and conditions and reports findings to supervisor.
Perform final handover inspections of completed work.
Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system within the operation.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant trade (post qualification).

Finsch Diamond Mine is located in the town of Lime Acres, which is situated 160km northwest of Kimberley and 109km south of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
ROLE DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Geology Coordinator/Geologist, the role will be responsible to perform basic functions in support of the geology section. Primarily sampling and visual estimation/observation of ore stream, managing and handling core and basic geological observations.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible to capture observations of ore characteristics accurately from the ore stream (e.g. visual % kimberlite facies and waste lithology estimates, fragmentation).
Collect geology samples from the ore streams for geological analysis as required (e.g. petrography, heavy mineral abundance sampling, waste and ore dilution sampling).
Sample management and quality control.
Maintaining sampling equipment
Diamond drill core transport, storage and handling. Management of core storage facility.
Basic geological, scanline and rock quality designation logging of core, under the supervision of the Geologist.
Basic geological chip logging, under the supervision of the Geologist.
Basic geological and ground condition observations underground.
Communicating basic geological and ore characteristic observations to Geologist.
Engagement & Communication: Communicate effectively with all team members.
Assist / perform risk assessments (General and Mini).

ROLE DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Engineering Foreman Control and Instrumentation, the role will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault finding and repair of instruments, control elements, control systems and application specific electronic equipment within the control and instrumentation (C & I) discipline.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide subject matter expertise and skills in area of responsibility; advising on solutions to enhance or ensure the effectiveness of the department/section.
Responsible for the safe installation and maintenance of radiation equipment where applicable.
Install and maintain networks and instrumentation and do fault finding on the hardware and software level.
Assist Foreman in executing his/his duties as and when required.
De-energise and apply the lockout procedure as per company policy.
Carry out repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance work on all C & I equipment and related control systems to comply with product technical specifications and deliver production objectives.
Attend to the relevant administrative functions, such as:
- C&I documentation upkeep.
- Compiling procurement specifications.
- Ordering spares according to departmental procedure.
Execute C & I projects in line with accepted project management principles to enhance, improve and optimise operations.
Ensure the efficient operation of the Diamond Recovery machines.
Continuously analyse equipment efficiencies to recommend or implementing improvements and changes to maximise operations.
Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.
Co-ordinate the monitoring, installation, service and reconditioning of a variety of equipment, instruments and control systems.
Monitor the implementation of new equipment and systems, taking specifications in consideration.
Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns to determine resource requirements.
Perform standby duties and attend to breakdowns.
