JOB TITLE: Network Architect (12 month contract)

DEPARTMENTAL MISSION: Responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems. Creates, tests, and evaluates networks.
 
 
OUTPUTS:
• Analyse business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
• Design, test, and inspect data communications systems.
• Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning.
• Install hardware such as cables, hubs, routers, and wireless adaptors.
• Develop technology roadmaps.
• Configure network drivers for software.
• Analyse, engineer, and execute software functions.
• Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
• Manage technology vendors.
• Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors.
• Determine production direction.
• Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
• Assess vendor development/test strategies.
• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
• Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
• Solve complex problems with many variables.
• Negotiate charge out rate where possible
• Monitor expenditure in relation to the significance or value of the claim or matter defended

CAPABILITIES:
Minimum Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Science/Engineering/IT
• CCNA Enterprise or equivalent
• CCAr (Cisco Certified Architect) or equivalent
• Project Management certification an advantage
Experience:
• 10+ years working with information technology systems
• 5+ years in Network design
• 5+ years’ experience with routers and switch design and support
• BGP and OSPF Routing proficiency
• Must have working knowledge in Cisco MPLS network technology
• Communication systems – knowledge of communication technologies such as wireless, mobile applications and telecommunications systems.
