CHIEF LANGUAGE PRACTITIONER: ISIZULU
Salary: R582, 444 per annum

Purpose of the Position: The Chief Language Practitioner is responsible for the implementation of language development and usage in the province. The incumbent must ensure equitability of language use, language promotion, implement language research programmes as well as co-ordinate the linguistic human rights cases. The incumbent must also support PLC’s, NLB’s and NLU’s within the Province. Whilst complying with the offices policies and procedures, the incumbent must focus on improving and supporting their work to respond to PanSALB’s business requirements through troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems and taking corrective measurements. The incumbent shall also execute any other duty as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a 3 year National Diploma or B-degree (NQF level 6/7) in Languages (or equivalent qualification) with translation, Interpreting, status language planning, lexicography, terminology, coupled with 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Language Practitioner. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 3-5 years’ experience working on Language matters, including Linguistic Human Rights. Sound knowledge of the Language Legislation, Monitoring and Evaluation System. Knowledge of Research, Policy Development and the PanSALB Act. A good command of at least three (3) official languages of the relevant Province. A valid Code 08 drivers’ license and preparedness to work under pressure and travel extensively.

Purpose of the Position: The Assistant Manager: Acquisition is responsible for the procurement of goods and services in line with SCM policy guidelines and related legislative frameworks. The role is also responsible for the processing of tenders including facilitation of bid adjudication and the functioning of the Valuation Bid Committee. The focus of the role is to implement procurement policies and strategies as well as co-ordinate procurement practices to maximize savings and benefits available to PANSALB from purchasing activities. The role further focuses on the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors while promoting good procurement practices with due regard to sustainability and ethical procurement frameworks. The incumbent must also maintain systems, policies, processes and procedures of this unit to effectively mitigate risk, prevent fraud and ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and good governance requirements and practices. Whilst complying with the unit’s policies and procedures, the incumbent must focus on improving and supporting their work to respond to PANSALB’s business requirements through troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems and taking corrective measurements. The role also includes the training and development of the SCM Clerk.

CHIEF LANGUAGE PRACTITIONER: ISINDEBELE
Salary: R582, 444 per annum

Purpose of the Position: The Chief Language Practitioner is responsible for the implementation of language development and usage in the province. The incumbent must ensure equitability of language use, language promotion, implement language research programmes as well as co-ordinate the linguistic human rights cases. The incumbent must also support PLC’s, NLB’s and NLU’s within the Province. Whilst complying with the offices policies and procedures, the incumbent must focus on improving and supporting their work to respond to PanSALB’s business requirements through troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems and taking corrective measurements. The incumbent shall also execute any other duty as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a 3 year National Diploma or B-degree (NQF level 6/7) in Languages (or equivalent qualification) with translation, Interpreting, status language planning, lexicography, terminology, coupled with 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Language Practitioner. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 3-5 years’ experience working on Language matters, including Linguistic Human Rights. Sound knowledge of the Language Legislation, Monitoring and Evaluation System. Knowledge of Research, Policy Development and the PanSALB Act. A good command of at least three (3) official languages of the relevant Province. A valid Code 08 drivers’ license and preparedness to work under pressure and travel extensively.

Ensure proper functioning of established reading clubs. Carry out administrative support services in the province.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT CLERK: PAYROLL MANAGEMENT

Purpose of the Position: The Senior Accountant Clerk is responsible for all administrative activities and support within the payroll function. This entails all functions within the areas of data input and capturing into the payroll system, paying salaries to staff, executing the monthly reconciliation function, and conducting all relevant administrative functions, i.e., filing and dealing with enquiries. The incumbent must ensure that all information is captured and processed accurately, according to norms and standards. Additionally, the incumbent must maintain the payroll system to comply with policies, processes, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of Grade 12 (NQF level 4) with Accountancy and a 3 year National Diploma (NQF level 6) in payroll or equivalent. A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 7/8) will be an added advantage, and 2 years of relevant experience in a financial accounting environment. Willingness to work outside normal office hours.
