The Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) was established by the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002 (FAIS Act). Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical, and expeditious manner and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS Ombud offices are located in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng.
The FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint a Business Applications Support to ensure Systems Development and support specialists primarily assist employees with systems used within the FAIS Ombud. The job deals with system incidents and the development of solutions to enhance the systems used within the FAIS Ombud, for optimal efficiency.

Requirements
- National Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science/ Information System.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ICT systems development, implementation, support, and maintenance/enhancements environment
- Programming, business/ system analysis, design, and data modelling experience
- Database Administration: SQL and Cloud
- Basic Networking understanding and analysis
- Project Management Skills
- Experience in Sage 300 (Accpac) and Sage 300 people
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Experience SDLC.
Key Performance Areas
- Ensure that SDLC is followed when implementing business system.
- Monitor, assess, fix, and upgrade system and application issues so that systems function uninterruptedly.
- Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for problem resolution
- Perform application backups as per the policies and Procedures.
- Provide hardware and software upgrades that are essential as per strategic initiatives of their organization’s ICT department.
- Interact with vendors to order and maintain crucial equipment and to manage SLA.
- Facilitate the renewal and upgrades of software licenses within the FAIS Ombud.
- Comply with information security measures as dictated by management and policy.
- Continuously learn new add Ons, integrations and upskill in application requirements.
- Conduct user training – identify users who require training.
- Assist the ICT team with ICT audits on systems.
- Assist users with resetting their password as per the policy.
- Ensure the Anti-virus module is up to date on all workstations and servers.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery Testing and implementation.
- Adhere and enforce all ICT policies and procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc duties related to ICT.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and enforcement of all ICT policies.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS GRADUATE

Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical, and expeditious manner, and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS Ombud offices are in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng.
The purpose of the Graduate Trainee Development programme is to groom the most deserving members of our society and expose them to the working environment. The rationale behind this initiative is to train and empower graduates who have just come out of tertiary institution and do not necessarily have previous work experience.
The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.

Job Description:
As a Marketing and Communications Graduate, you will play a vital role in the FAIS Ombud’s marketing efforts. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the dynamic field of marketing and communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop engaging and compelling content for various marketing channels, including social media, emails, and promotional materials.
- Social Media Management: Assist in managing and growing our social media presence by creating and curating relevant content.
- Campaign Support: Collaborate with the marketing team to support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Communication Coordination: Work closely with the communications team to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all channels.
- Outreach Programmes: Plan and coordinate outreach initiatives to engage with the community, partners, and target audience.
- Requirements:
- Have a three-year National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with a passion for marketing and branding.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with marketing tools is a plus.
