Role overview 
Believe it or not, behind every successful Senior Manager, there is a Personal Assistant (PA) closely guarding the actions the Senior Manager takes. This individual is rarely the center of attention, but they play a very important role in the company.  It is the job of the Senior Manager Assistant to make sure that everything runs smoothly for the Senior Manager.
The PA is an individual who wields a great deal of power as the right hand to the Senior Managers he/she reports to.  The PA not only must gain the trust of the Senior Managers, but it is the PA’s job to anticipate the mood and frustrations of the Senior Managers to make sure things do not get out of hand. The PA must also schedule and coordinate meetings, making sure everything is in place so that the Senior Managers can do their part without being blindsided by some unforeseen difficulty.
This means an assistant must always be on their toes, planning for every contingency to achieve what their Senior Managers outline as the desired outcomes of their engagements.
Therefore, we are looking for an energetic and dynamic PA who appreciates the dynamics and fast pace of a financial services distribution business, someone with a desire to excel in what they do, and who enjoys navigating challenging and complex issues through highly refined interpersonal and influencing skills.
You will be responsible to provide secretarial support to the Head of Wealth, as well as his reporting managers.
 
Key Result Areas
  • Maintains confidentiality of information
  • Arrange functions, book venues and make travel arrangements
  • Manages diaries
  • Completing tasks of a personal nature on behalf of the Senior Manager Minutes taking and developing reports, presentations and correspondence High level of contact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as an Ambassador for the PF Segment
  • All responsibilities of a Secretary
  • Responsible for office infrastructure e.g. office equipment and stationery
  • Could be accountable for the management of a budget
  • Manages queries on behalf of managers and performs delegated tasks
 
Qualifications, Experience and other requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years’ senior level PA experience.
  • Strong skills in PC Software (MS Office).
  • Willingness and ability to travel and spend time away from home on occasions Excellent communication skills in English
  • Willingness and ability to work after-hours when needed
  • A formal Secretarial qualification will be an added advantage

This role provides input into BU and Segment People Plan with the core focus being on developing and implementing tactical HR people plans to drive organisation effectiveness. The role partners with Senior Management teams and is responsible for the implementation HR plans and advisory services. Individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts, over periods of 3months -1years.
  • Provides input into BU or Segment People plan
  • Develops and implements tactical and operational people plans in response to business and people challenges
  • Partners with Senior Management teams to advise on people challenges and on how to improve people performance of teams
  • Advises on people priorities for the future, using insights from HR Analytics and trends
  • Manages the efficient implementation of the HR Calendar
  • Develops and implements tactical organisational development and effectiveness interventions to address short term business needs
  • Advises Senior Management teams on improving employee engagement at all levels and on building a high-performance culture aligned to the overall segment plan
  • Manages the implementation of the Segment Talent and Leadership plan for a designated area
  • Advises Senior Management teams on how to respond to change efficiently and effectively
  • Manages the adherence to HR controls and implement new controls as required.
  • Manages adherence to transformation plans for the segment
  • Contributes to HR synergies across MFC
  • May manage a small team of HR Professionals in a large business''
 
Requirements 
  • 5+ years as an HR Generalist or Business Partnership experience
  • A postgraduate degree is advantageous
  • Experience within the financial services industry will be advantageous
  • An ability to demonstrate high personal impact and influence to build a strong, trusted advisor relationship with business leaders
  • Solid employee relations experience
