The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is established in terms of section 30B of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, to dispose of pension fund complaints lodged in terms of the Act in a procedurally fair, economical, and expeditious manner.
Job Description
The OPFA is inviting applications from members of the public to serve as Audit and Risk Committee members for a period of three (3) years and assist the Pension Funds Adjudicator (PFA) in discharging his/her duties. The term of the appointment is subject to renewal at the discretion of the PFA. The remuneration shall be in accordance with National Treasury Guidelines and/or OPFA pre-determined rates.

Job Requirements
- Applicants should possess a postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8 or 9) in finance, accounting, information communication and technology, or auditing, with at least 8 years of senior management/consulting experience in relevant fields.
- A PHD or a Doctor of Philosophy (NQF Level 10) in finance, accounting, information communication and technology, or auditing will be an added advantage.
- Membership in a relevant professional body as minimum requirement.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and other relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956 will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in financial management, financial reporting, as well as relevant corporate governance principles and practices. Alternatively, knowledge and at least 5 years’ experience in ICT strategies including digitalisation strategy, cloud strategy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence frameworks and understanding of ICT governance processes.
- Knowledge and experience in risk management processes, including the development and implementation of Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Fraud and Corruption Prevention Strategies and Business Continuity Management strategies.
- Knowledge and at least 5 years of experience in evaluating and monitoring reported organisational performance information and other relevant National Treasury reporting requirements.
- Must not be a disqualified person as per Section 69 of the Companies Act.

Job Requirements
- A relevant postgraduate degree (NQF Level 8) in Human Resources, Finance or similar. At least 8 years of senior management/consulting experience in remuneration management, or human resources and corporate governance.
- Membership in a relevant professional body as minimum requirement.
- Certificate in remuneration management South African Reward Association will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience serving on a board or committee of a public entity will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and other relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956 will be an added advantage.
- Experience in overseeing or developing and implementing remuneration policies and strategies, Patterson grading, and benchmarking of salaries against the market to achieve fair and competitive pay. Knowledge of the relevant corporate governance principles and practices.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in remuneration matters, laws, and the regulatory environment.
- Must not be a disqualified person as per Section 69 of the Companies Act, 2008.

Job Requirements
- A relevant postgraduate degree (NQF Level 8 or 9) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Corporate Governance or equivalent. At least 8-10 years of experience in corporate governance, ethics management, sustainability reporting or human resources.
- A PHD or a Doctor of Philosophy (NQF Level 10) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Corporate Governance will be an added advantage.
- Membership in a relevant professional body as minimum requirement.
- Certificate in sustainability management, ethics management from a credible institution will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience serving on a board or committee of a public entity will be an added advantage.
- Membership to a professional body. Certification as an Ethics Officer will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, the Companies Act, King IV principles on corporate governance and other relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge and experience with Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956 will be an added advantage.
- Proven experience in oversight or developing and implementing HR Strategies. Alternatively, Extensive knowledge and understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles/initiatives, sustainability practices, and ethical governance.
- Experience in monitoring and advising on ethics, environmental, social responsibility, corporate citizenship, sustainability, and stakeholder inclusivity.
- Knowledge in employee relations, equity, diversity and inclusion practices.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest developments in social, ethics, and sustainability matters.
- Must not be a disqualified person as per Section 69 of the Companies Act, 2008.
