DEPUTY DIRECTOR: LEGAL SERVICES (12-MONTH CONTRACT) 
(Ref #: OHSC: 31/2022)
Salary: An all-inclusive salary package of R 908 502 per annum (basic salary consists of 70% or 76% of the total package, States contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion). The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
 
Requirements: A four-year bachelor’s degree in the legal field. At least 5 years’ experience in
a legal environment which must include legislative and contract drafting. Must be an admitted Attorney or Advocate. Analytical and innovative thinking skills. Good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Planning, organising and networking skills. Computer skills in MS office. A valid driver’s licence. Experience in board support in the public/health or social services/regulatory environment would be an added advantage.
 
Duties: Provide legal advice to management and the Board of the OHSC. Draft, edit and amend contracts, service level agreements and memoranda of understanding in line with the OHSC policies and procedures. Conduct legal analysis and research with regards to legal matters pertaining to the OHSC. Manage litigation by and against the OHSC. Assist the Board Secretary with legal secretarial work.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: BOARD SUPPORT (12-MONTH CONTRACT)

Salary: Salary: R 491 403 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits
 
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Law. At least 3 years’ experience in governance and
board support functions. Good communication skills (written and verbal) interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills. A Postgraduate qualification in public service administration and experience in board support in the public sector/health or social services/regulatory environment will both serve as advantages. Registration with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Southern Africa (CSSA) would be a further advantage
 
Duties: Provide administrative support to the Board and Committees to ensure their effective
and efficient functioning. Coordinate and support the OHSC governance framework and
arrangements. Assist with the mitigation and control of legal risks to the OHSC. Assist with the operational plans, performance plans and other administrative duties within the unit.

MANAGER: MARKETING AND STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS (12-MONTH CONTRACT)

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Communication, Public Relations,
Journalism, Marketing, or Advertising. At least 5 years’ experience in Communication, Public
Relations, Journalism, Marketing or Advertising of which 3 years must have been at a junior
management level. Excellent communication skills (Written and verbal). Problem solving
and decision-making skills. Understanding of intergovernmental relations, communications
approaches, methods, and technologies. A valid driver licence. A relevant Postgraduate
qualification as well as experience in communication, product pitching, presentation, document layout and design would be an advantage.
 
Duties: Development and implementation of marketing and stakeholder engagements
strategies. Management of marketing, campaigns, and stakeholder relations strategies.
Contribute towards development and evaluation of marketing and public awareness strategies. Management of digital and social media platforms. Writing and editing of corporate publications, and promotional material. Draft opinion pieces, write letters, media statements, speeches, and website content. Assist in designing and developing a media relations strategy.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in Communication, Public Relations,
Journalism, Marketing, or Advertising. A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Communication
and/or Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Advertising. Excellent communication
skills (written and verbal). Problem solving and decision-making skills. Understanding of
intergovernmental relations, communications approaches, methods, and technologies. A valid drivers licence. A relevant postgraduate qualification would serve as an advantage.
 
Duties: Implement communications strategy, branding, implementation plans and arrangements. Coordinate and facilitate internal and external communication. Coordinate and facilitate media relations and interventions. Coordinate and facilitate campaigns and events. Assist in the development of a communication plan to drive engagements. Perform other related duties.
