DEPUTY DIRECTOR: DATA ANALYTICS (REF #: OHSC 2/2026)
Salary: An all-inclusive salary package of R 1, 059, 105 per annum (all-inclusive package) (basic salary consists of 70% or 76% of the total package, OHSC’s contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion). The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Actuarial Sciences, Epidemiology, Monitoring and Evaluation or Health Sciences field. A minimum of (5) years’ experience in health care research, three (3) of which must have been at a junior management or equivalent level. Analytical and interpretive skills. Good judgement, problem solving and conflict handling skills. Advanced computer skills and experience in using STATA, SAS or SPSS Statistical software. A valid driver’s licence.
Advantages: A Postgraduate qualification in any of the abovementioned fields would be an advantage.
Duties: Contribute to the development and maintenance of the OHSC strategic information management unit. Support and contribute to data collection, analysis and management of activities of the OHSC. Support and contribute to the development and implementation of monitoring and reporting plans. Assist with ministerial and parliamentary communications, correspondence and submissions.

Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or Advertising, with a minimum of 3 years in a junior management position. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities. A solid understanding of intergovernmental relations, communications strategies, methods, and technologies is also necessary. A valid driver’s license.

Salary: R 582 444 per annum (plus applicable benefits)
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in health sciences field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in health care, 3 of which must have been in direct patient care. Experience must include health data analysis and/or management of health information systems. Good communication (written and verbal), Interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills. A valid driver’s license.
Advantages: A Postgraduate qualification in health care will serve as an advantage. Experience in health quality management/case management/project management in healthcare will serve as an added advantage.
Duties: Manage and coordinate the administration, submission, monitoring and reporting of the Annual Returns (AR) and Early Warning System (EWS) information systems for health establishments. Support the development and implementation of procedures, protocols (governance systems) and operational guidelines for both functions. Monitor and verify the completeness, accuracy and timelines of submitted AR and EWS data to ensure data quality, compliance and timely reporting. Provide technical support to health establishments and internal stakeholders. Maintain and monitor an updated national health establishment register. Assist with any ad-hoc tasks required by the unit.

Requirements: A four-year bachelor’s degree in the legal field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal environment which must include contract, vetting, negotiation, drafting and overall management. Must be an admitted Attorney or Advocate. Analytical, innovative, organisational, administrative and good judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Legal drafting and legislative interpretation. Planning, organising and networking skills. Computer skills in MS office. A valid driver’s licence.
Advantages: Experience in board support in the public/health or social services/regulatory environment would be an advantage. Extensive knowledge and application of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No 1 of 1999) as amended and the King Report on Corporate Governance Vol IV (currently Vol V).
Duties: Provide legal advice to management and the Board of the OHSC. Draft, edit and amend contracts, service level agreements and memoranda of understanding in line with the OHSC policies and procedures. Conduct legal analysis and research with regards to legal matters pertaining to all units within the OHSC. Manage and facilitate all litigation by and against the OHSC. Assist the Board Secretary with legal secretarial work. Manage and monitor the implementation of recommendations by the Health Ombudsman of South Africa towards health establishments and advise the Director: Legal, Governance and Board Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements:
A recognised bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in the legal field. A minimum of three (3) years’ post graduate experience, two of which must be in a legal, compliance or regulatory environment. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Planning and organizational skills. Computer and report writing skills. Willingness to travel. A valid driver’s license.
Advantages: A post-graduate qualification in Compliance, Risk management, Regulatory certification as well as experience in the public sector, health or social services field will serve as added advantages.
Duties: Support the implementation of OHSC Certification and Enforcement framework. Support the process of collaboration among business units towards the certification of health establishments. Administer the process of collaboration among OHSC Divisions towards the enforcement of compliance by health establishments’ compliance with the prescribed norms and standards. Review inspection reports for certification or enforcement purposes. Manage litigation emanating from Certification and Enforcement decisions. Implement and report on the Divisional targets, work outputs and achievements. Co-ordinate ad-hoc hearing relating to certification and enforcement decisions. Contribute to policy development within the division. Contribute to own and staff performance. Provide support on compilation of the OHSC Strategy plan, annual performance plan, reports annual budget, and division operating plan. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to the Division. Comply with and utilise the OHSC governance framework and management systems.
