LICENSING EXAMINER 
TASK GRADE 08 
Salary Scale: R 277 820, 85 – 307 172,07per annum 
 
 
Essential Requirements of the post: 
 Grade 12 
 Grade B Examiner of Licenses 
 Code EC Driving License 
 Registered with Department of Transport 
 Traffic officer’s diploma will be an added advantage. 
 No criminal record 
 
Key performance Areas: 
 Testing applications for a learners or driving license in the manner and in regard to the matters as prescribed, in order to determine whether the applicant is fit and competent to obtain a learners or driving license for the class of motor vehicle for which he/ she applies; 
 Determining whether an applicant for professional driving permit complies with all requirements before a professional driving permit is authorized and issued;
 Checking details of the application received against the identification and / relevant supporting documents; 
 Applying written/ oral testing sequence, moderating results and informing applicants of outcomes; 
 Determining the roadworthiness of vehicles in accordance with road safety and traffic legislation and conducting visual test; 
 Updating schedules and registers reflecting licensing and testing applications processed and extracting summarized reports detailing the status of activities and forwarding the immediate superior for processing; 
 Maintaining records of applications, reports, and test, using alphanumeric sequences to file documentation and/ assessing/ retrieving information to support query resolution.
